Some 13 years after it originally released in 2004, World of Warcraft continues to release new expansions. The latest of these, Battle for Azeroth, is coming this summer. Blizzard announced the release window today and also opened pre-sales and more.

One of the coolest perks of pre-purchasing Battle for Azeroth is that you can try out one of the four new playable Allied Races, which were first referenced in Legion. You have to complete quests to earn their favour, but once you do, you can create your own Void Elf, Lightforged Draenei, Nightborne, or Highmountain Tauren. More Allied Races are coming in the future, though these have yet to be officially announced.

Additionally, everyone who pre-buys Battle for Azeroth gets a single level 110 character boost that can be redeemed right away. The standard edition of Battle for Azeroth goes for $50 while a Digital Deluxe edition is available for $70.

Everyone who pre-buys Battle for Azeroth's Digital Deluxe edition will also receive in-game items for WoW and other Blizzard games. These include the Seabraid Stallion (Alliance) and Gilded Ravasaur (Horde) mounts, along with Tottle, a baby Tortollan pet. The Hearthstone bonus is an Azeorth Is Burning card pack, while the StarCraft II goodies are sprays themed around the Horde and Alliance. For Heroes of the Storm, you get a Primal Flamesaber mount, which has three variants. And finally, the Overwatch bonuses are Horde- and Alliance-themed voice lines for Torbjorn, along with emotes for Tracer. You also get player icons for Kul Tiras and Zandalar; along with sprays featuring Anduin, Sylvanas, Jaina, and Varok Saurfang artwork.

A Collector's Edition of Battle for Azeroth is also on the way. It will include an "assortment of loot" on top of everything mentioned above. Details on the specific items and pricing will be announced later.

Is anyone planning on getting this newest expansion?  I just heard about it.

Can't decide if I want to jump back into WoW or not.  I haven't really played Alliance, but with a free level boost to 110, I might consider pre-ordering it.

From the number of overwhelming responses, I take it no one is playing World of Warcraft.  :)

I don't think many people check the forums here, and mostly just use Discord as a proto-forum. I already bought it, and plan to play the expansion. There are quite a few names in the WOW channel in Discord that have "Playing World of Warcraft" under their names, so there are quite a few people.

I am waiting on ESO to announce the timing of their next chapter. It will determine when I play WOW again. I will play the expansion though for sure.

If you announce in Discord that you posted about "Subject X" in the forum and link it, those interested can go there for more details. That way, there is a static place where all the information can be found.

I have pre-purchased Battle for Azeroth, and I'm working on characters for the new races. I will be there :)

I have been playing my alts, trying to level them up.  I'm currently in Draenor, doing Garrison crafting missions.  My alts are mid 90's, I'm hoping to get them to 100 before BFA.

I'd like to get the crafting gear for all my alts.  Just got my Herb station, level 2 so I can focus on getting Gorgrond Flytrap plants for crafting (needed for Hexweave cloth and Burnished Leather).  Wish The primary crafting materials weren't BoP (Hexweave cloth, Burnished Leather, Trueseteel Ingot).  With 12 alts, it is hard for one toon to make full sets of armor, especially when you can only craft Hexweave cloth / Burnished Leather once per day.

It looks like I will hit level 98 before I will be able to craft any Draenor gear.  My current gear is low 500. (Mostly green/quest drops)

I heard you can do the weapon quest in Legion starting at level 98.  Does anyone know how hard it would be to start Legion at level 98 (Legion is 100-110) with only level 500 gear?  

The Draenor crafted gear would make me feel better, but it may take months before I could make it.  I imagine within a week or two I'll hit level 98.  Curious if I should stay in Draenor and grind the crafting dailies, or take my chances in Legion with a low gear score.

Any insight?

I started legion on my rogue at level 98, and her gear was the heirlooms plus some pandaria gear, with maybe a couple draenor pieces from the few quests I did. I went through draenor doing a few quests plus mostly getting treasures and bonus objectives. She was woefully underrated for legion, but it wasn't too hard at 98.

Just reached level 97.  I do not have any heirlooms.  I have a few pieces of green pandaria gear, but most of my gear is just outdated.  I fear I will struggle at 98 in Legion.  Should find out in a week or two.  Yikes.

All alts are now level 101.  I've been logging in every day in my Garrison trying to get the daily crafting ingredients.  At the rate I'm going I won't have enough materials until after the expansion launches in August.

I'm getting around 20-25 max BOP crafting items, but I need 4000 leather; 1600 plate; and 1600 cloth to equip all my alts.   

Weirdness #1:  Draenor crafting mats are bind on pickup, but are only obtained once per day, approx 20-25 pieces each day.  

Weirdness #2:  Mail armor uses leather crafting mats.   

Makes no sense :)
