Any idea on the lock out timers. So all you want to do is one sc of the city then.
Here's how I see it: You have a glorious win and get to roll on loot. You now have your reward lockout timer for that stage. The day continues and oh look, you are city sieging again. I've done Altdorf, IC and back to Altdorf in one day before and that can still happen. Here's why. Even if you have a reward timer on you, you still get crests. Okay, slightly less than someone without a reward timer going when it comes to being on the winning side again, but you still get them. Losers get them based on objectives taken regardless. So the only thing the reward timer is going to do is reduce how often you get to roll on loot for winning stage 2 and one for stage 3 (appears they are separate per my way of understanding this) and you don't get quite as many crests for a win. Otherwise, beat up the cities, gain some crests, and make sure destro knows who kicked them as often as you like. ::grins:: Think I have this right per my read of the article.
when i was earlier in the week we started talking about the lock out timer and came up with a possible problem with haveing lock out timers,, we hammered it around for a while and none of us could come up with a answer ,,, towords the end of the convo i suggested that one of us ask ben about it to see what he thought not sure if any one did, here in a nut shell was the possible prob.. Assuming the lock out timers for the city will be the same or simular to what we have with lost vale, crypts, tunnels or tovl. and with the way we are curently going to the city 2, 3 even 4 times a day my concern was this. to get to the city we will still have to lock 2 pairings in order to get into the city. once the pairings are locked all Open field rvr and scens ends (in other words you cant do scens or take objectives) until such time as the city push is over then the zones unlock. the problem i saw with this is say we push the city you get a lock out no big deal right ? wrong. if they push the city again your locked out you cant go in so your stuck doing nothing rvr wise untill the city unlocks, this dosent seem so bad if you look at from one person perspective but think about it. if you push the city twice or more in a day your going to start running into a significant portion if not all the population of a server being locked out of the city and just standing around doing nothing because regular rvr and scens are shut done because of the city push.. now depending on the length of the lock out say its a 3 day lock out... your going to end up by the end of day 2 with no one being in the city during the city push because just about every one will be locked out. Ok thats was the convo we had in vent... now please Ben im not being negetive here was just thinking at the time sence the convo we had going at the time in vent was on the new city changes and some one had asked about lock out and the above idea came up... after being able to help you guys test i had no answer for the problem and ill freely admit i know nothing about the lock out timers or if even mythic has addressed this possible problem.. only reason why im bring this up is im curious to see if any one knows if mythic has said anything about this possible problem.. aka ben (*WINK*)
