Need Defiant Side Voices

Hey Defiant Side,
Someone approached me on the forums telling me that it's totally uncool that I'm threatening to ban / kick anyone who groups with defiant's outside our family.

This kinda blindsided me being I encourage you all to PUG as much as possible. So I really could use some defiant voices to join in this post I made to dispel that rumor. I don't know who started it but honestly anyone that knows us should know thats not the case. Please take a moment to post a reply on:

Stand up for your family and please share your perspectives. I don't want people thinking our family is the exact thing we stand against.

Posted and stated they could come talk to me or ask a member to have an officer contact them with issues. Also stated we should not be voicing we can't join a group for dungeons or warfronts. The only time we try not to join things is when Guardians are doing their PvP rifts and we don't want to accidentally give the impression we use the event to farm each other. At random or in warfronts that pull in people randomly, it should not be an issue because you did not "plan" to see a family member of the opposite faction. If you don't feel comfortable joining, please do not say it is because you were told not to. Give some truthful reason or simply say, "I can't at the moment, but thanks for the offer." I know some of us do feel uncomfortable with PvP just because we like our family too much. ::grins:: There is nothing that says you have to join a pug and there is nothing that says you can't. Play the way that makes you feel comfortable and enjoy the game.

This sounds really strange as i know, at least on the pve side, quite a few of us are in raid pugs all the time. And I've never had anyone say anything like that at all. Maybe just a simple pvp misunderstanding?

posted: no idea where this rumor was started. Gaiscioch is one of the few guilds i've ever been in where you can truly "play as you like, however you like". Gaiscioch members - including raiders - are welcome to raid/group with whomever they choose. this is in stark contrast to other guilds i've been in where raiding with another guild or pug is an automatic g-kick. this guild is my gaming home. signed, Malle and Roxanol of Faeblight [aka: Rainidawn and Delamar of Madoran] PS Grad school is kicking my gluteus maximus - but look forward to seeing you all again in GW2 :) hugs & biscottis

I posted a response. Hit too close to home to be honest and ya .. it's totally not cool. Did they say "who" they heard this from? btw..is the site messed up for everyone? It's really screwey for me, the formatting is off and my sig is weird looking?

I can tell you exactly who I saw telling everyone in Meridian and 50 chat that "the leader of the biggest dual-faction guild on the shard told his Defiant members they would be kicked from the guild if the participated in the 100000 units turn in." His/her name is Gamadh. I told him I highly doubted it and he said he'd seen it in guild chat on an alt. He shut up right quick when I simply stated that I AM GAISCIOCH Na Nuada as well as Gaiscioch. I spoke to Vandyl about what the person had said and had it confirmed as total BS.

This specific claim is rather absurd but it is not too hard to believe that some members of our family have a hard time understanding our values. I've had to explain to people multiple times the concept of being inclusive as a guild/family rather than exclusive. Our events are specifically called 'Family led or Family run' events and not 'Family only' events. That distinction is lost on some of our members, especially the newest ones. More specifically raiders who joined us because they thought we're a raiding guild who only takes their own have a hard time adjusting to our philosophy. Again, we as a family do not discriminate against those who wish to participate with us and this includes raids. If you wish to play only with family members then that is your choice, but it is definitely not the rule. The fact of the matter is that there are many smaller guilds who would be unable to do content without our assistance. And we do so without requiring them to leave their guild or disband it. Our inclusiveness in regards to grouping has helped counteract alot of the resentment that a large guild gets from the rest of the server. So I think that this is a good reminder to everyone that our motto of 'play how you want, when you want, for as long as you want' applies not just to us but to the whole server in general. We don't dictate to anyone how they should enjoy this game.
