Closing Doors

So...it's been a really bad 2 weeks here. A download I was trying to get to work cost us $500+ due to our slow bandwidth, which came as a rather rude awakening this past Thurs to hubby & myself, which brought us both to some tough choices outside of game. With one income, pinching pennies is a way of life, but we didn't count on an extra $500 bill from a download we didn't expect to go awry

The accounts, both of them, have been cancelled...we were going to play thru April, when both expire...until I logged on tonite, d-side, & got a rather rude awakening

I don't consider myself much of a giver of late, though as I was wading thru an alt's bags the other day, I figured someone could use my bounty, that being multiple stacks of Eternal Planar Dust & Minor Catalyst, in 5-per-stacks, put on the d-side 4th tab. Figured, hey, people can take out 5 at a time if they need it, no big. I'm not on as often due to it's getting to be spring, & spring, on a farm, means longer daylight, & fencing, clearing, weed whacking, etc, so we're on later & later now

What I didn't count on was a random look that turned into a rather...saddening, & angry, happenstance

I know we're on a blades out, not in policy, & the guild is good to stand by this...but it's very hard to know that 80% of what you just put on Tab 4, one withdrawl a day, is on the Auction House

Yeah...so...I'm a bit ticked right now...I guess it's no one's fault but my own for wanting to leave them there to help people, the raiders, the up & comers, etc, with their gear, & I'm currently not using it. I guess I just didn't count on the greed of certain people on d-side *shrugs* I learned apparently that not everyone has morals as I do to others

Given the week I've had, the cancelled accounts, & now this, I'll be taking my char's out of the guild, to save myself the ulcers, and saying something that's going to probably get me kicked anyway, but at this point *shrugs*

I'd like to extend a deep thanks to Echota, for the endless answering of questions, while she was on d-side more often than she is now, & for her kindness. I'd also like to thank Fog for putting up with me for nearly 6 months now, & the guild at large & everyone who's had to put up with my nasal tones

Thank you, to all of you, that I know, don't know well, & may've just brushed against briefly. You're good people...well...almost everyone I guess. Fool me once, so they say...sadly, the sour taste in my mouth wasn't how I wanted to say farewell to all of you but *shrugs* To the person I caught selling guild bank items on the AH...thanks, the rest of us appreciated our hard-earned efforts for your coin purse

Peigra, believe me you will be missed badly. You and I both know it is against our guild rules to do that type of thing. Thanks for everything you have done and i hope to see you in future games.

I understand your frustration - I know that I would be annoyed if the same thing happened to me. Rather than leave though, might it not be more appropriate to bring the AH greedy person to account via the leadership processes, and stay in the guild? Seems shitty to have someone leave due to someone else being selfish.

You will be missed. I really enjoyed your company. It is against guild rules for that to happen and the person that did this needs to be held accountable. I know Fog and leadership don't approve and it's not acceptable. Fog even bumped a post reguarding this issue. So please write to him and let him know. I also understand RL stuff and finances. We moved in November and finances have been very tight for us as well. Please know you seriously going to be missed. As for the real life stuff, I hope that works out. Sorry about the DL that cost like that. I find that insane and would be annoyed highly seeing as most things really are unlimited now. ::hugs:: I'll miss busting on ya during crifting and at other times when our paths cross in the game. Now I completely understand your frustration with the person who took the stuff you put in the bank and sold it for their own purse. This is not acceptable and is not what the guild bank is so openly available for. Now if it was sold and the money put back in the guild bank, that would be a different story. Those things are to be used for crafting needs of the family and if anyone wants to sell them for personal gain, sell the ones acquired out in the field, not someone elses effort happily put in the bank. I sure hope Fog knows who you are because you just helped us loose one of the people that I considered a friend in this family before her real life would have made her leave.

Sigh........ Peigra/Pilgrath please report those that have done this to Fogh....... The family does not need thiefs or those that would only consider their selfish "Imaginary currency" personal gain....... I miss you...... *Hugz....

Hi Pil, Did you report this to Fog? Did you send amy of the Officers or Me a ingame Email? I will see what I can find out tonight. Things like this should not be brush aside and let go. I am also sorry that I was not there when you needed me or when you thought I should be. After I speak with Fog tonight I will be back with the Defiant full time, well everynight but the PVP one. Oh my, I am so sorry to hear of all your troubles, and good grief you need a new ISP! That bill is ridiculous... As to the guild fiasco, didn't you get on vent and look for Fog or an Elder right then and there? This type of behavior will never stop unless the people who see it, speak up immediately. I understand your anger and frustration, but removing your toons and just depriving everyone of your presence is just letting the bad guy/gal win... Please reconsider...it was just one person, not all of us. :(

Too bad that people have to steal, especially from family. But, regarding the finances and cancelling your Rift accounts. If you still want to play, you could make a level 20 twink or two using Rift Lite for free. That way we could still see you in game.

P, Im sorry to hear about your troubles. In my humble opinion, I would hope that you would stay in the guild while you wait out your time...figuring that 1 person acting like he/she did...shouldn't overtake the good that you have experienced in guild. You are one of my more favorite people in the guild/game and I am glad to have hung out with you during the family/crifting events. Safe journeys P!

I will miss you greatly. Like other is understand your frustration with greedy individuals in taking advantage of your generosity. I don't see it as a reason to leave us all together. I would hope to see you in GW2 as it has no sub and wont be hurting any ones budget long term. I hope thing on the farm work out and i would contact who ever provides your internet service and try to get the that bill reduced. Possibly you have tried that all ready. I know you don't know me well but I am willing to pay for you and your hubby's account until the end of September if that will help you out some. I also am so sorry to hear someone took your donation and ran to the broker to sell it. I know from personal experience how financial issues can really get you down.
