Rift Costume Ideas

One of my hobbies, outside of gaming is sewing and costuming specifically. I've made several Elizabethan era outfits, along with several MMO inspired 'cosplay' costumes.

At this point I've made several DAOC related costumes, one Warhammer Online costume and now I'm considering making something Rift related for next year's convention season.

So I need your help. I've been looking around for ideas, but several of the iconic Rift female characters wear outfits that well...I just wouldn't feel comfortable wearing. :) Maybe if I was 10 years younger...lol.

What I would like to see from you all though are ideas and/or screenshots of what you think would look cool as a costume.

These are pretty cool. Now I know what you mean about some of the costumes being more than what I would deal with too. Then again, my disability has added some padding back on so I was of a shape to pull off some of the outfits once upon a time. Now which class and faction were you most interested in trying to make? I know cleric stuff isn't too crazy and can be made a tad more modest to still look good. The mage stuff makes me wonder because some sometimes my char isn't wearing any pants! or has those impossible leggings I'm not even sure how you would make them stay up comfortably for an RL costume. I'll gladly try to help if I haven an idea what you really want to try. I used to make costumes for a LARP and even sold what I made for a bit. Only thing I never got the hang of without paying for expensive tools was gromet setting, so I tend to buy my bodices and make the rest.

I tend to focus more on the elven caster classes, but I do like some of the other class outfits that I've seen too. ::chuckling:: Yeah, some of these get ups I would only wear for my husband. ;) Well, I will try to help you out based on what I see from my mostly Defiant side of things in game. Can't promise anything though I rather like how my Eth Cleric looks in her transplanar armor even if I prefer elves myself.

I like Quartermaster Meena's outfit. She is located in the north, ground-floor room in Sanctum (where you get the expert/raid rift quests). (Edit: As it turns out, lots of the NPCs in Sanctum have this outfit in various colours. This blue is particularly nice, as is the all black outfit.)

(agrees with Ava) The Whitelion is a spectacular costume! The Shades of the Mist cloak brought back some fine memories too :)
