They also added a new lore section for Akylios (http://www.riftgame.com/en/world/notable-figures/akylios.php) - which has me really excited for Hammerknell!
hehe... that's what I'm talking about..... ::tightens the strings on her lute and tunes her horns::
Grats on the epic PvE loot.
http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/e3-2011-hands-on-with-rifts-1-3-update/#continued Found this post we get Guild Banks!!!
This looks like more content that was pushed back from release and turned into another plane world event. Hate events where we have limited time to grind for time specific currency to buy specific items we'll never be able to obtain again. Hurts newbies and helps veterans.
Patch looks okay. I'm currently kind of miffed because it looks like they are opening up Hammerknell and the only ones who get to explore / experience it are raiders.
Draegon: there's more content than just Hammerknell, like the zone-wide invasions. And I'm sure there will be stuff for everyone.
The machinima at the very beginning of the video is really excellent. OK, the flyby camera is not something us players could do, probably, but other than that it looked like the real game. Impressive (and beautiful)!
The zone-wide invasions are only going to serve to open the doors to Hammerknell for the raiders to enter. This is a majorly missed opportunity on Trion's part. Same gimmick that Blizzard has used in the past -- try and promote the event as something the entire server gets to participate in, players of all levels. But the reality is that once the door is open, it's over for non-raiders. Think of all the lore and story-driven content they could have added with opening a zone the size of Hammerknell. I had such high hopes for this game, but it really is turning out to be a "murder simulator", gear grind. Anyway, I'm very frustrated by this (if you couldn't tell). I'm pretty disappointed by the 1.3 information thus far -- they are going to have to do something pretty spectacular to win me back.
I'd rather look at this with a glass half full outlook. Rift has been out 4 months and we will have had 3 considerable patches already. All the attention goes to their raid dungeons but they have added alot of content to the minor, major, expert, and raid rifts also. And yes, the opening event is temporary but who is to say that in another month or so, there will not be another event to follow? It seems to me that we've been doing one event or another for quite a while now.

Looks good Paja, but I'm afraid that I'll never see it live.
Same here Booie. I chose the road of not jumping into the dungeon running early on, now I feel I'll just gimp a group if I start now. But, I still like to post up stuff to give the others a chance at seeing things before they happen.
It looks like they put a lot of detail into it.
That's the way it goes with most raiding scenarios. If you aren't on that leading edge of people who level-cap and form up into a clique, you end up feeling left behind. I would love to explore Hammerknell, it's really a shame that they made it for 20-man raiders only. I was looking forward to hanging out with Scotty in there.
Well, they have worked hard to do what they can do now, it is not their fault that we are slow ;), hell I'm not even thru T2 yet.
