Greetings Everyone,
It was painfully obvious after last nights event that we will need to adjust the point totals required to gain levels within the family. Our original draft was to have your first promotion be for registering to the site, second for participating in 2 events, third for participating in several events. With 250 - 500 points per event we needed to adjust the rankings so people did not get 3 to 4 promotions in 1 event. The good news is, we wont change rate at which you earn Family Vault Tokens. So currency wise you all are gonna be rich. So here is the new Promotion Structure. I'll be updating the rest of the site as I have time.

Buirdeiseach - 0 FHP Unregistered
Treubh - 0 FHP Registered
Muinntir - 500 FHP
Lorgair - 1,000 FHP
Freiceadan - 2,500 FHP
Saighdear - 5,000 FHP
Gaisgeach - 10,000 FHP
Seaimpin/Ard Tiarna - 25,000 FHP
Laoch/Maithean - 50,000 FHP
Teagasgar - 100,000 FHP
Draoi - 250000 FHP

I hate to be the thorn in your flesh always asking these sorts of questions about your new policies, but you always make me curious. ;-) On that scale, I would lose two ranks that I "earned" in WAR. So how do you plan to handle that? Bump up the points of WAR veterans to the proper place in the new ranking, or have us re-earn the ranks we already had? Curious mind(s) want to know... :-)

Nobody ever gets demoted. You will stay your rank till you hit the next rank. The Gaiscioch Family does not work backwards. The Value of our events are Significantly higher rates than our Warhammer. Last night even was 597 points. The leaders each took away 1,194 points for the event. Our Highest Warhammer event EVER was 367 points or 734 points for leaders. Thats 39% higher than our Warhammer points for the very first event we ran here to our full scale. Now being Rifts are 2 Point for Minor and 5 points for major and we closed over 190 objectives last night. Those points add up fast. I could make Rifts be worth 1 point for minor and 3 points for major but then closing a rift is the same value as a minor foothold. The only way to make it feel right is to slide the point scale up higher.

Oh, I fully understand the need for it, or else we'd have a guild full of officers, with no members, in short order. :-) Was just curious how you'd handle it, and what you're saying is likely the most equitable. Thanks for the information!

Quick question about honor points. I never write down which rifts, etc I am at. There were two groups so how do I know which ones to claim credit for. I have guessed so far, probably not taking all the credit I should. Sigh.

You claim credit for everything done by both groups. If it's part of the event and you were there, you get credit for everything.

I still haven't fully figured out how this all works yet.. Can you claim credit even for non-planned events? Say I find myself in a random rift raid and notice a few other guildies doing the same rift.. can I somehow come on here and claim credit for it? If so.. how does it work for invasions? Do I add up all the rifts/objectives I do so long as there are other Gaiscioch members in the raid and come claim credit for it.. somehow? *confused* Forgive my ignorance.. I've been trying to read all I can on the site.. but I have to admit even for a gaming/guilding veteran like myself it is a bit overwhelming. :)

Hmmm....I seem to be missing the high point events. I've been busy IRL for a while, so basically have just been doing the weekly Telara Saga event (except I missed this week). I have also caught a few of the rift hunt events. My advancement pace has been right about what Fog is saying is the intended pace. I've done maybe 10 events, and am Freiceadan, about 30% of the way to Saighdear. What are the events that were getting people multiple ranks in one event?

There hasn't been a single event over the 500 our first event in rift scored at. Event highs are around 250. People jump multiple ranks when the finally register and claim all they have done. There are no 500+ events. It just percieved as someone gains 1000 points. Also artisan points are higher for high level gear. You can get up to 250 with an augment now. I wanted the general family event to top out at abou 250 thus making 2 to 4 events required for first rank. Also Greenscale, T2 dungeons are worth a lot I've seen scores near 250. There as well.

I have accumulated 664 honor points so far. Since I am over 500, should I be at Crabhadh rank instead of Treubh? Just checking to see if my understanding is correct. :)

Yes I run through promotions a couple times a day. Its a manual process as there's a divide by zero glitch that sometimes maxes out a players points. If it was automated they would become gm and have access to the full admin. Not good to say the least. So be patient and ill get ya sometime today ;).

Thanks Foghladha! I am in no hurry to get promoted, just wanted to start contributing more to the Family. I am constantly looking over all the different ways I can contribute through crafting and particpation in events. Thank you for all the hard work you do. I noticed that contribution points have really increased for me. I would imagine that is the result of the Malformed Soul and the Corrupted Soul I have donated to the Guild. I absolutely love the system and the website you have set up! Cya in game! Cliodre

@Ilinitha The way it works is this: only members of a certain rank can post an event for you to claim partticipation in. These events are not random encounters with Gaiscioch members. These events are all formed ahead of time and then set out with an objective in mind. So say for instance if I were to say in guild chat..."Forming rift hunt raid, who wants an invite?" and then I could come onto the forums and set it up so if you were in the group you could claim participation after the event was over. However there are restrictions such as there must be at least 4 members of the family present in a group to qualify. Same thing with dungeons, etc... So, if you just happen to group up at random with a guild member or two, that does not count as an event, and you cannot claim participation.

Thank you for the response Fairybella! Much appreciated! :) I think I've just been overly eager to get started participating and I'm only level 15 on my guilded character. *chuckles* There doesn't seem to be many lower level events going on at the present, though I supposed I could try to attend some of the explorations/rift/Saga events.. but that brings images of the grey death screen to my mind, just thinking of trying to get to the meetup locations. *grins* Thanks again! I will keep leveling and hope something my level comes my way! :)

@ Ilinitha Go here and look for the events in green. Those are the low level events if you are concerned about dying. As far as joining the event for places you cannot reach on your own, we drop a rally banner to summon. Go here to read about how that works. Hope to see you there!

Are the honor points required to reach a rank cumulative? IE, Lorgair = 500 + 1000 = 1500. Or just a threshold (Lorgair is anything between 999 and 2499 total)? Yesterday I was Crabhadh at 1048 points and the UI said I was 2% to next level. Today I'm Crabhadh at 1156 points and the UI says I'm 10% to next level. I'm so confused, hehe!

Ok should be fixed. Now Realize, if you leveled up in the system before this change went into effect, the % aren't going to be right as you should be a lower rank in the new system than you are. It tricks the system into thinking your in that lower rank working to the next lower rank. For Example: Renny Conchobair has 523 points and was a Lorgair in Warhammer Online being we don't demote people when the new system went into effect he should have been a Crabhadh with Lorgair (1,000 FHP) as his next rank. Well his actual next rank is Freiceadan (2,500 FHP). The system sees the point value and ranks it accordingly to the bracket he's in. So it sees Conchobair as a Crabhadh, not a Lorgair so he will be 56% of the way to next level (being the system THINKS he's not a Lorgair yet.) I could make it so it all works right but over time the problem will fix itself. No reason to make more code that slows down the site even more to compensate for an anomaly that only happens when someone migrates from the old system to the new. 90% of you were born into the new :).

Yes Carrigan, you will. However, Contribution Points are a lot harder to come by than Honor Points, so at least that will be in your favor. Each level requires a certain number of Honor Points, Contribution Points, and Tokens of Valor.

You can earn Family Honor Points by Leading, Participating, Exploring, Writing, or Crafting. The 5 buttons on your Mini profile are the various ways to earn Family Honor Points. Regarding contribution being hard? not so much anymore Wolf. With materials donations now people are earning them by the bucketload. We've got some 50k Donars now.
