So I was just curious as to what are some of peoples best memories so far of spvp or wvwvw?  Throw out some of your expeiences for good laughs and just some good old fashion war stories :)

My particular story (and i tell this to people who don't even play gw2) is when I was running in a small 5 or 6 man group that Kraas was leading.  We went to the northern most supply camp on an opposing servers BL.   We capped it and then hid :).  we would kill anybody who tried to reclaim it and hide again :)).  After roughly 20 min. of this  they sent a 20 man group to get us and we had to fall back through the eastern most doorway.  As we did that tho we ended up killing most of them but could not stomp them fast enough so we would run down the road a bit regain health and re engage with their numbers back up do to their rezzers.  We did the hit and retreat thing for probably 30 min. more and held up most of their force while Rall's zerg was capturing towers and such :).  It was a blast and my wife was tired of hearing about it after the second day of talking to her about it :).

So what is your favorite battle story so far?

Oh ya Ruwund I remember that day! Couple days ago Kraas and Sprong are standing on the Astralhome entrance road telling me they do not see any enemy; am I crazy or something? Hammer Fore! The enemy flies off the rock and splats right between the two of them. Maybe you had to be there... but the timing of it all was so eloquent I was busting a gut.

During the Extra Life event Pookha had 6 of us and 1 random pug hide in the little niche in a fully upgraded extra guards, patrol and everything Green Briar and deploy 2 catas. After about 15 minutes of sitting there we had the wall to about 10% when on their like 15th pass the npc patrol happened to spot us from the back of the tower and the enemy saw them run int other niche and alerted the masses. During he time sitting there we saw no less than 40 enemies run by, and we constantly sitting there saying did they see us? It was great.

If I were to name one it would be the one you mentioned Ruwund. That was the most memorable fight ever. Salients punting that guy off the cliff was hilarious as well. The one that stands out for me, and I kinda feel bad for this guy... we had our five man group and had just shadow refuged on the west side of the lake to try and escape from a zerg that was tracking us down. It worked and the zerg turned around and left us. In the mean time one lone Charr comes strolling out of Garrison right past us as were all invisible. 3, 2, 1, BOOM! I didnt even see his health bar diminish... he was just gone! Exploded! It was so cruel and yet so satisfying! We all had a good chuckle and proceeded to attack Arahs Camp. The thing is, Ive been in that Charr's shoes, and I know exactly how he felt and what he was thinking.

Man, my ears are burning. Haha! I've definitely been a part of some really enjoyable WvW moments...it's hard to say what may favorite has been. My small groups have been in some pretty epic fights, but one moment that sticks out in my mind was not a fight at all. A couple of months ago, I think we only had a group of 4 at the time, we were running south along the west road from Spiritholme to Godslore when we noticed that the north wall of Wood Haven was at 5% and not upgraded. Making the most of the opportunity, the 4 of us dropped a catapult and took the tower in probably 5 mins or less. Obviously not an epic battle, but good for a laugh, and an important reminder of how critical it is to repair gates/walls following an unsuccessful enemy siege attempt!!!

I haven't WvW'd much, but almost every time it has been with the family and most times a small crew at oddball hours of the day. This week was a five man and I took my engi in for the first time. As with my other characters, we had both epic wins against greater numbers and the zerg bombing defeat where plenty of "Ows" were heard in raidcall. I wish I had some great story from the groups I've been with, but they all were fun with both victory and defeat. The funniest thing that ever happened to me was when our enemies did not seem to want to be on the field much though I did have one epic fight over a tower for 30 minutes. Anyway, I was taking this off peak time and overly winning setup for us to finish the last bit of map completion on Briseadh. I can't remember what borderland I was on, but an enemy held the supply camp to the north so there were guards to run through at a gate in the wall on the east. I have them following me, but ignore them. Then I finally realize I have a mesmer chasing me. I give them three more hits because they weren't doing much damage with my guardian setup. Since they didn't give up, I suddenly spin with my leap attack followed by a couple more hits and splat them good. Now if they had just given up, they would not have died. Silly Mesmer.

Playing my Engineer solo, running north to catch up with some other guild's zerg. As I come up the Z-ramp near the enemy-held Garrison, I see a loner running along the cliff. It looks like he's trying to find a safe path to jump down. I run over and show him the unsafe route by hitting Rifle 4, and blasting him off the cliff to his death. When I turn around, I see an enemy zerg heading for the Z-ramp. They've spotted me, and a big pile of them are headed my way. I lob a few grenades into them, but they keep coming. As they catch me, I drop a Big Ol' Bomb, and dodge roll off the cliff to deny them the satisfaction of killing me. Somehow, I hit a tiny ledge about halfway down and survive. A second later, it's raining bad guys as 15 or so people plummet past me to die below. I like to think that Big Ol' Bomb pushed one or two of them off, but the rest leaped of their own accord. I laughed until my chest hurt.

I was on my level 40 Guardian just recently and was on my way to Dawn's Eyrie to help repel an attack. As I arrived the invaders were being pushed out the North tunnel so I immediately engaged them with my hammer. Three of them started falling back toward the cliffs as I pushed, pinching them around the eastern side of DE on a narrow ledge. They were fighting and retreating at the same time, but I knew I had them exactly where I wanted them. I popped Ring of Warding to lock them in, knocked the necromancer flying off the cliff with a banish before immediately switching to mace/shield and dropping my bubble, knocking the other two off the cliff as well. All three feel to their deaths and I Imagine the wurms below ate what was left.

Two weeks ago I finished world explorer, and my very last vista was on the battlefield. It’s the tower right to the east of Dreaming Bay and we hadn’t held it in weeks (when I was online). I was chomping at the bit and going nuts on WvW nights because I wanted it so bad, but held back from OMG CAN WE JUST TAKE THIS ONE PLACE! in Raidcall because I don’t have a clue about strategies out there and get lost frequently. So it’s Friday night and I get home from work, hop on and zone in to check and see if we have it. It’s Blue!!!!! Twilah starts running like a nut and I’m praying I don’t get ganked on the way. Halfway there I see the yellow announcement…reset. So we all get booted and I am literally a stone’s throw from the tower. I hop on Raidcall and ask if everything resets back to neutral when the server resets – Jexia tells me it will be just like we left it when we were booted. There is still hope. Reset happens and I queue, fingers crossed. I get in after about a minute and open the map – there’s orange swords at the tower! I see my guildmates lining up at the portal and organizing, but I just start running. I’m thinking “there’s no way I’m going to be able to get there in time, but I have to try.” Then I realize there’s a ton of green dots behind me. We get there and it’s a big battle. The bad guys are through the front door and working on the boss guy. But now there’s Gaiscioch everywhere. I’m not ashamed to say I tripped over a few people’s faces to get that vista in the chaos of battle, but I did. We cleaned them out and set up a defense, but after about an hour we lost it again. That’s cool, because I now have a gold star and ride the special Dolyak.
