URGENT: Weaponsmiths Needed: Ley-Line Infused Tools

Greetings,

This is a call to arms for all of our Weaponsmiths out there. We are in dire need of Ley-Line Infused Tools. We are currently working on advancing Morrigan, Anu & SORC to speed up production and these are required to upgrade.

Requirement:

400 Weaponsmith

Access to Ley Line Sparks from Crystallized Supply Cache using Vials of Chak Acid and Noxious Pod using Machetes. Ley Line Sparks are bind on Pickup which means that these can't simply be farmed and sent to me. We need the actual weaponsmiths to create these tools then send them to me.

 Ley-Line Infused Tool

• 1x  Charged Quartz Crystal
• 1x  Ley Line Spark
• 1x  Orichalcum Mining Pick
• 50x  Pile of Bloodstone Dust

Obtaining Items:

1x  Charged Quartz Crystal

You can charge these Crystals at any Comune skill point location. Suggested Waypoint: Shaemoor Garrison (head south to commune location.). You can charge 25 Quarts Crystals into 1 Charged Quartz Crystals per day. I can send you stacks of 25 as needed. Once they are Charged they will be Account Bound.

You can farm one of 3 nodes in Drytop to get these. They're are 2 nodes in close proximity by the vista on the right side of the map. One by the vista and one below the vista (on the way up)

Additionally you can purchase a gift of Quartz from the laurel vendor

1x  Ley Line Spark

You can obtain these easily in Dragon Stand by opening Noxious Pods with Machete's. Simply port to a completed map and go to town on the abundance of Noxious Pods. You can find them before the victory but they are rare. If a map wins they are everywhere.

Obtainable in most level 80 supply bags from PvE, WvW, or PvP.

To get the materials, Do I need to progress in the HoT Story or can I just waltz into the jungle to get those mats?

Ley-Line sparks can only be gotten from Crystallized Supply Cache (need Chak Acid) in Tangled Depths or Noxious Pods(need Machete) in Dragon's Stand.

Additionally the story offers 15 as story rewards (meaning they should be repeatable on different characters)

• Heart of Thorns story episode 11 rewards 5 Sparks
• Heart of Thorns story episode 13 rewards 10 Sparks

My problem is that Princess and coming out then Ascended Gear  having a value for raiding and now my quest for Nightfury has rid me of my bloodstone dust.

Actually the story chapters reward DUST, not sparks.  I was bummed when I found this out, since crystallized supply caches have been super stingy dropping them.

Lakshmi, you might want to go back and check on that because I definitely remember getting 15 sparks from the story and the wiki agrees with me.

Should be the first(5) and third(10) story missions in Act 3.

They were dropping like candy from the noxious pods in dragon strand plus they also drop those ascended crystaline things for buying guild decorations. I would say just grab some machetes and go looking for pods.

Shame the stuff is BOP, because sadly, my 500 WS is level 40-ish.

Sekkerhund - its account bound, not soul bound, so your higher level characters can get them.

I am able to farm quartz node in drytop on my level 57 with 45 darksteel mining picks. You can only make 1 charged crystal per day. The ley line sparks you can farm in dragons reach fairly easily with a healthy suppy of machetes.

Gaspara -- it was most definitely dust for me.  I actually ran the story through to those chapters the very day you mentioned it last, specifically for the sparks.  And I got dust.  Both chapters.   I might have screenshots somewhere because was both unexpected and disappointing.  

I can try the story again next week, maybe it's RNG if you get sparks.  Either way, RNGsus has not been kind to me for sparks.  I'm blew through all my Tangled Depths currency buying chak acid and got maybe 4-5 from 40 keys.  I don't recall ever getting one from dragon stand pods.  

Maybe it's changed in a recent patch -- I last tried a couple weeks ago.  I sorta gave up on it because of the time involved to farm currency for 10 chak acid per spark.

I got 14 from last nights dragon stand. I just dont have charged quartz

Oh my gosh I got sparks from the HoT story rewards! SQUEE! :D

Aaaand I ran out of bloodstone dust :p

I would be happy to help out with this. I have the same problem with charged quartz - went through all the quartz I have and charged them over the past couple of weeks, takes a few days to get back up to 25 to charge another. For the sparks - I did just successfully complete dragon stand, but couldn't find anymore noxious chests, and the random ones I found on the map prior to completion didn't drop any sparks. Is there some specific place where they are at? I am working some of toons through the story in the meantime.

Ill send ya some quartz rylssa. After successful completion hold down control and run across the map. Theres usually 2 by each waypoint. 

Edit: I didn't read the whole of Fog's post. Now I feel silly. :p

Also, if for whatever reason you can't get the Sparks from Dragon's Stand, you can use Vial of Chak Acid  from the Nuhoch vendors (8 Ley Line Crystals each, or 40 for 5) to open Crystallized Supply Caches in Tangled Depths. They are scattered around, so do as Fog said and hold down control while you run around.

The only reason i say dragon stand is you dont need masteries to be able to get machettes. You need to unlock the tier 2 mastery to even speak to frogmen to buy the acid. Im still working on that part.

Now that I finally got the bloodstone dust I needed and completed Nightfury I can start using bloodstone dust to make these again to donate.

When you successfully kill the final boss the map will change and show some large red arrows along the path. Following those arrows will lead to a handful of places where doors have been opened that allow access to areas only accessible after winning that contain noxious pods, skill points, vistas, etc. This is also how Rangers can unlock the lightning wyvern and tiger pets.

Miroquin, thanks. That makes a lot of sense. I thought about following those red arrows just as the map was closing and died before I could see what was there. 

According to the wiki, for Dragon Stand:

• It is not possible to join a completed map to farm Noxious Pods, you have to be on the map when it completes.

Thats odd because the other night i logged into one

A friend told me that Noxious Pods will spawn in the same area that the juvenile tigers are found and these are available on a map that has not completed the Dragon Stand meta.  This area is south of the vista at the Northern Barbed Gate.

There are several in the north area before completion and also in the far south.

I too complete story line a 2 of my characters in past week and got 30 sparks, 15 from each character.

I have started to make the Ley-Line Infused Tools and have sent about 5 to you.  I also have just started to explore Dragon Stand map and should be able to get more sparks to hopefully speed up my production.  It looks like I may be hampered by a low supply of the sparks and bloodstone dust.

I did go and get my own crystal node for my homestead, and plan on hitting dry top to get the three easy nodes there each day.

Lets get this done!

Alright everyone, being we've got things rolling for the Level 40 and all that stands between us and the end zone is 19 Ley-Line Infused Tools, I'm going to unhighlight this. Now keep in mind, We will still need these for the final 2 upgrades to the mine, we will also need them for Anu, Morrigan and SORC. So keep sending them as often as you can. I spoke too soon. I got one Charged Quartz Crystal, but I hadn't been in the new HOT area.

I don't like HOT so can't get the Ley Line Spark

I think I wasted my money getting the expansion.

Just quickly skimmed over, but I have my main as a max level Weaponsmith and will help if I can. I just got back on GW2, been gone since December I think? Still adjusting to all the new stuff.

We're pretty good on these atm.
