Hail to the Family!

I'm looking for a viable support build for WvW. Currently I'm lvl 80 with the following traits: http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mccmMV0zM9bGGxmsVmoRa

My gear needs A LOT of work. I'm currently running with a mixture of Cleric and Gladiator Rares with no Superior runes yet. I haven't started my fractals yet (or much of any other dungones for that matter) but I am a 400 Armorsmith. Basicly I understand the amount of work that is needed for my gear, but it's the details that I'm looking for (i.e.) Are my traits correct? What Utilities/Elite should I be using? What role should I take on the field? (help the front line or support the rear). Also as far as gear is concerned what would you recomend? I'm very open for advice and really enjoy my guardian, but want to be the best I can for my family. Thank you in advance for your responces.

Well that is some curious choices...I admit your build confuses me a bit, as it looks like you went for a toughness support build except with a strange 30 point offensive set in Virtues? I would feel that if you want to be an effective support as a guardian, it is better to pick either healing support or boon/survivability support and be the best at it, as it's hard to trait and skill well for both simultaneously. Your weapon choices are great for a support build though - run in staff main for the speed field plus drop an Empower upon enemy contact to power up your zerg, then drop a line of warding to disrupt the enemies initial rush and throw up some rainbow waves to damage a lot of bad dudes. Swap over to throw out a Smite in the middle of their group and then throw out your shield abilities to bolster your buddies and protect anyone that got whacked in the initial contact while you rez them. Healing breeze should be your heal skill if you want to run support, just be smart about using it so you don't get interrupted. For a more back-line healing oriented build I might go something along these lines: Healing Build You will be healing the heck out of everyone and granting plenty of protection along the way. You want to stay towards the back lines in most cases because you wont be exactly super durable, but don't be afraid to teleport into the fray and drop some shields to save a lot of people in the thick of it. Don't forget to be dodging pretty much whenever you can, and blow your virtues pretty constantly. They are all better off being used than sitting on their passives, so use them freely as you need them (Justice every single time it becomes available once you engage). For something a bit more on the robust, boon-granting support side you could go with something like: Support Build A nice shout-based build that also makes you pretty darn tough to kill. With this one you are up in the middle of the action, not exactly doing a lot of damage but you are tagging a lot of baddies and drawing as much of their fire as possible while granting craploads of boons all over the place. Again in this build you are dodging pretty constantly and blowing those Virtues...just be careful with Save Yourself as it can draw a LOT of conditions on you and Renewed Focus won't save you from them. You could consider swapping Hold the Line with Contemplation of Purity for a sweet stealing of everyones conditions and turning them into boons for yourself. It's true that in either one of these builds you aren't going to be murdering anyone very fast, but that's okay because you should be running with a team that can do all the murdering for you as long as you keep them alive. Granted, these are just my own guesses/opinions and the cool thing about this game is that you can play however the heck you want and usually be at least somewhat viable, but hopefully it at least gives you some things to consider!

Thank you very much for the advice this is the type of stuff I was looking for. Looks I need to switch a few tactics around. Any other advice will be well appreciated.

My pleasure. Again it's all based on the playstyle you enjoy most and you can tweak things to fit you best. There are plenty of schools of thought out there, and i'm sure if you want more info you could google around for stuff like: Guardian Support WvW Guide or something and get some good hits for more input. Also you can always find me in game on my guardian Phantomstarr (Phantomstar.9687) if you want to chat about tactics or builds. :-)

My level 75 support guardian is currently running this (without the strength in numbers). http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUQQJAWSlcg6CHFSLEf4ES2DRakQQsHYUGtRXFSIA;TABgzymEMJZS1kiJquMeJ8ymjrLZOrPGfsB51A I use almost exclusively 2 handed weapons (always staff and either GS or hammer depending on the situation) because there is always something to be doing with them supportwise anyway, but a scepter with a shield is also a good choice. Currently I have both my 30 point traits set as such to test the bug fixed Battle Presence and the fact that allies now get the boost from absolute resolution to see if this is a viable amount of overtime healing in a large group where it will always be hitting 5 allies. My healing is usually healing breeze because it is the supporters heal due to the large healing it can do to allies as well. My 7 skill is always wall of reflection and I use it whenever its off cooldown and I am in combat. My 8 skills is usually Retreat! because long term sprint, more in combat mobility and a free block for 5 people and myself can be huge. Also my number 9 skill changes depending on the situation. The most common skills are sanctuary (2 party organized groups), save yourself! (zerg vs zerg where my own survival has been an issue, also occasionally use this as a second long sprint to get back to an important objective in a hurry after death), hold the line(zerg vs zerg when I know 5 allies will always get it), hallowed ground (when we have multiple rams on an enemy door with a cata behind it). I am also currently weighing the options between clerics and soldiers with this build, but leaning towards clerics due to the coefficients on healing breeze, empower, selfless daring and orb of light. As far as traits go I as far as I am concerned Wall of Reflection is the best ability the guardian has so Master of Consecrations is a must, also I love consecrated ground because the ability to cast a all at 900 range means I can put it up on top of enemy keep walls and prevent them from firing down at us. My 30 point virtues trait is currently absolute resolution for testing but Indomitable courage is also a good choice because stability is one of the most underrated things in this game. As for Honor I often use superior aria because many times I am using 2 shouts. Sometimes i change it out for protective reviver. I used to like resolute healer, but have recently decided its just too short for its cool down. Because I use almost exclusively 2 handed weapons Two Handed Mastery is a must, honestly just the increase in support capacity it brings to the staff makes it almost a must. Currently my 30 point trait in honor is testing battle presence, and fixed it make still be better than other options though having superior aria and protective reviver wouldn't be a bad choice either. Lastly with only 10 points left and only 3 options the choice is really down to symbol of wrath at 25% and the guardians falling trait(a great choice for any class in WvW) or an aegis at 50% and the area 90 toughness boost for myself and 5 allies. At the end I decided the extra survival or the aegis and +190 self-toughness was a better choice.

That's a pretty good set up for a protection support build Gaspara. Let me know how your tests come out on Battle Resolution. Also, do you know if Pure of Heart trait heals allies affected by your Aegis as well? I haven't been able to find any good information on it but if you are running a boon support build that could have some potential for a nice amount of passive healing.
