All well and good, but without a vanity/costume/cosmetic armor/wardrobe/transmog (etc.) all these pretty armors are just going to end up replaced by some ugly ass robe with better stats, lol. Everyone in beta looked the friggin same!

Endgame tends to be different, with much better armour.

I saw several people in beta dressed for appearance, maybe it will be mostly an in town thing, but it was happening.

I have read a rumor of appearance slots, at the link, but was did not track down proof of posting.

I've seen several posts about a "costume" system but I've never been able to source it back to Sqeenix. Honestly, I really feel like there are a lot of quality of life improvements that have been made to MMOGs recently missing in FFXIV. I'm sure it mostly has to do with it being an Asian game, but man it's gonna be tough living without some of them.

I sure hope we don't have to wait six months from launch! Six months from the date of that interview - so right around launch. YEAH that's the ticket!

Adds context too, and meanings can really  change without it.

I used a "poor man's" vanity slot for in-town - an otherwise unused Equipment Set (you do have to equip a tool or weapon).  Then I added it to my job-swapping hotbar.  Not as simple as an actual vanity appearance feature, but it let me swap instantly from my fashion disaster gear.

BYW did you know you can swap equipment sets while riding a chocobo?
