Remember that pre-ordering gets you into the headstart. If you do not preorder, expect more down time between the end of phase 4 and release.
How would I preorder and not apply the preorder to a different account? I would like to keep my 1.0 characters.

edit: also @Sandolphan, from my understanding, the bonus codes come to you separately from the preorder game key. so you can apply the codes to whatever account you want. at least, that's what i got from my research, when i was trying to decide myself.
I don't see anyplace to add a code onto my account. It says Code Registration is currently unavailable.

I managed to preorder one copy, but I keep getting "There has been a problem with your order" when I try to order a copy for my wife. POOPY!

I am trying to get accurate info by only reposting what I can verify via a dev post, but it is getting quite difficult! Information overload and a lot of bad info out there for sure.....Anyway, afaik this is the deal:
Yes, preorder codes are separate and can be applied to 1.0 games.
However, the redemption ability has not yet been added to accounts. Awaiting that to be implemented.
So in effect, you can preorder another copy, use the preorder code yourself for headstart, and then give away the separate game key. The peron you gave it to would get the game, but would just miss headstart.
I am impatient with stuff like this...as soon as it becomes available for me to type a code into that place...i will preorder then lol
Hopefully they still have copies left at that point, some versions of the game are already sold out :)
Yeah, be careful, it is likely preorders will sell out well before release.
How can you "sell out" of a digital download? Or is the pre order code only in the boxed set?
Ok, patience wore thin and your sell out warning rang true, although I am still not sure how you can sell out of a digital copy.
I used the above code and it worked! I got the confirmation email and it only has one code, so I am hoping that code is everything I need to get early access. =)
It seems the link from the GMG pre-purchase automatically flags your account for all the bonuses and early access - no extra code entry required.
Just ignore this post. Because I read the original post wrong. So just chalk it up to me having a lovely "Jen Moment" LOL

Got it so for 40 bucks got the CE.
Simple instructions for those have not done it yet:
Once order is confirmed - think it is one per account/email at Greenman - you will be sent an email with your code.
In the email find the link to register your email for having preordered. Scroll down and you will find the email entry spot.
On there it states that you will be emailed as soon as you can use your code.
So order now, save the email, and also write the info down to keep it all safe.
After dealing with GMG support, it seems this pre-purchase is one per household by default. If you want to copies and have two GMG accounts with different email addresses (ie. one with your email, one with your spouse/child/etc), just put in a support ticket telling them the issue. They flagged my wife's account to be able to pre-purchase after I had already done so with my email. I'm not sure if its the phone numbers or mailing address or what, but it took a few days to finally get them to let me pre-purchase two. Doesn't make much sense either way but whatevs - we'll both be playing from phase 4 on!
Bump for a still working code. 40$ for the CE when others are charging 30-40$ for the standard edition is amaaaazingly awesome
