Beta Key Watchers!

If you notice any of the official mmo sites giving away keys, please post here to help other players get hold of them.  We still have about 5 people who want to play, but who do not have keys.

Be VERY suspicious of emails you get saying you have got a key.  Some are genuine from Square Enix, but there are a lot going around with fake keys getting you to click links to keylogger sites.

My advice is that you do not click any links, and access the SE account site independently from the email.  Set up or reactivate your Square account. Then just type in the beta key and you will soon know if it is fake or not. Clicking on email links is not advised, as there are so many waves of fakes going around right now.

I too would like a beta key if anyone comes across any. I am very eager to try the game, wasn't able to get into the testing to help with beta.

We can't actually "give' people keys at this stage as it breaks NDA.  But we can help by keeping our eyes open and directing new players to the main sites who have keys to give away. Just don't click on email links...

Yeah, I meant come across any of the sites :P

I keep hoping to receive one in my inbox, no luck yet.  Not that long until launch in any case though =D

Keep an eye on IGN if you have a Prime account.  They did have PS3 keys (I assume they still do since its only Prime and not public, afaik) but the PC keys are supposed to be coming soon.

That's a surprise Sekkerhund.  The last time FFXIV mentioned free keys on their twitter was more than a week ago.  I applied for beta on 3 emails a couple weeks ago... nothing, not even spam.   I  strongly suspect they've simply stopped accepting new folks into closed beta.  

Are you, yourself, an IGN Prime subscriber?  If so, can you give this thread a heads up when they actually become available?  I'd subscribe to get a key if I knew for certain they were really there. 

a few weeks ago, they announced they had over 900,000 applicants for beta...i think it's just that they simply cant let that many people in to the game at this time. hopefully, open beta will start soon and everyone will get to play!

They just announced passing 1 million beta applicants. Personally I dont see there being 1 million people at launch, altho it is possible. MMO genre right now is a bit stagnant when it comes to new releases/expansions. Hopefully those that come to simply be jerks stay in Neverwinter and Rift (nothing against either game, just meaning most people out there to simply harass tend to migrate to the newer F2P games.) And those that don't, will soon leave / change their ways when they see how necessary it is to have a good reputation among the server, since the game pushes away from solo content later on.
