Greetings Everyone,
With the growth we're seeing in RIFT, GW2, and ESO and expansions for GW2 and ESO looming on the horizon, we've taken steps to preemptively prepare for the days ahead by bringing on a few new Elders. Over the past few months we've lost a few Elders to real life and have also filled their seats for the days to come.
Special Recognition:
First and Foremost I'd Like to say Congratulations to:
Nona aka Mulena
While she hasn't been approached yet to join the elder team, she is being placed on our Additional Council board. Other than myself, she is the only other member of Gaiscioch that has taken part in all 5 chapters and remained active in most of them for more than a year. She has been at every one of our meetups in Seattle and has been an influential member since the days of her making stew and hunting giant chickens with me in Camelot. I can't think of a better lady to sit at the table and offer her two cents, which she has already been giving me for more than 14 years. Thank you Nona for being a huge part of this family and I look forward to seeing you each and every year :).
New Elders:
Additionally I would like to thank the following people for their continued support and willingness to join the Eldership team.
Mika - Guild Wars 2
Since Mika joined the family he has been going out of his way to help others. From leading fractals to raids he covers a wide range of activities focused on Teaching players about Guild Wars 2. His friendly and compassionate attitude combined with his European playtime have proven essential to the success of our family in Guild Wars 2. We look forward to having another daytime elder in the mix.
SirHenryVale - Elder Scrolls Online
SirHenryVale originally joined us as a Tuatha member with Ltol's guild Dragonriders. Since Warhammer Online he has shadowed our family and eventually joined Gaiscioch proper. In Elder Scrolls Online he has picked up the torch and began leading events for our community. His advice and council over the years first as a Tuatha and later as a Gaiscioch has been deeply rewarding and we look forward to his continued support.
Tip - Rift / Guild War 2
Nobody knows the woes of fall damage like poor ol Tip. He's been with us since the early days of Warhammer Online and has been an influential part of the family long before he was ever considered for eldership. He has a very helpful personality and goes out of his way to help others. We are very pleased to have this comedic addition to our team to help provide some sound guidance and light humor to the team.
Rhynor - Rift
Rhynor has played in several of our chapters but her off peak play times kept her out of many of our activities. Now based in the Oceanic timezone she has been able to join some of our late night activities and has served as a bridge for us and the oceanic community. She has also begun proofreading and helping provide feedback on many of our community events. She has even taken it upon herself to act as translator for the Telara Saga and the french community that transferred to the US servers to participate in it.
Eiahn - Rift / Guild Wars 2 / Elder Scrolls Online / Magazine
If you don't know Eiahn by now you haven't been around in a while. He literally has his hand involved in everything we do. He plays Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, and Rift. He has been an active part of our Livestream team and also a huge part of our magazine team. He puts in countless hours every week to help me get magazine content on the site and has shown nothing but a helpful attitude towards others. I am thrilled to have Eiahn join the team officially even though he's been living the elder life for well over a year.
Screensage - Magazine
Screenager has been instrumental in our ability to gain interviews, attend conferences as a member of the press and is averaging 5 articles per issue. He is our European correspondent and has used an insane amount of his own time and money to further our families reach in the Gaming media world. I could never show enough gratitude for all of Screenagers support over the last few years. Ever since I bumped into him officially on the Campfire livestream I knew I had to know this man. He is a remarkable individual and our families Scottsman.
We will be holding an elders meeting on 3/4 at 2PM PT (Elders Only) to welcome our new elders. If you would like the chance to say hi to them please stop by the Community Events channel at 3PM PT (Open to All) and we'll be hanging out to answer any questions and you can get to know these new elders.
Thanks again for your continued support!
