Hail to the Family!

I have been asked to provide a little insight into my Musa rotation for those looking to try the new class but are unsure how to play it. While there are several guides out there and what I've noticed is they focus more on PvP rather than leveling or PvE. So I'll start by saying that this guide will focus more on leveling thru grinding.

Here are the key skills I use in my rotation:

----- Big Pull -----

Retaliation 1 - This skill is activated by holding down "Q" and is a knockdown against 7 targets. Which sets up your follow up skill Rising Storm.

Rising Storm - This skill is activated by "Moving Back + LMB + RMB" or hitting "Shift + Q" (I recommend quick slotting) and is the Musa's MUST USE skill. This skill has a follow up skill as well called Cyclone Slash.

Cyclone Slash - This skill is activated by holding down "LMB + RMB after Rising Storm" (or quick slotted). I follow up this skill with Gale.

Gale - This skill is activated by holding down "LMB + RMB" after using your default LMB skill Slice.

Whirlwind Cut - This skill is activated by holding down your "LMB and either A or D". This skill is used to quickly move around and clean up what's left while also building up your WP.

Dragon Bite - This skill is activated by "Moving Back + LMB" (I recommend quick slotting because it will interrupt Rising Storm if you activate RS via LMB + RMB rather than Shift Q). This is your Black Spirit Rage dump.

----- Small Pull -----

Carver - This skill is activated by holding "Shift + LMB" (or quick slotted). I use this skill against small groups and follow it up with Blind Thrust.

Blind Thrust - This skill is activated simple by moving forward and tapping your "Space Bar" or while performing Carver or Slice (default LMB). This skill is used to setup its follow up Nemesis Slash.

Nemesis Slash - This skill is activated by hitting "Space Bar" after Blind Thrust. This skill has an Ultimate (which i don't have yet) that will be your relief from taking so many health pots. It hits 3 times against 7 targets and heals 40 HP per hit/per mob, so that's a potential 840 HP per use (against the max 7 targets).

----- Future Skills I'm Waiting to Test -----

Blooming - Big damage and stun against 7 targets

Tiger Blade - Allows you to dual wield swords but limits the number of skills you can use; activated for 30 sec and has a 2 min 30 sec cooldown

----- Rotation -----

So the first thing I do on a big pull is circle around a group of mobs to get them into a tight circle, then hold Q to go into my Retaliation stance and wait for the knockdown (if it doesn't auto proc just tap LMB). While they are knocked down I use Rising Storm and Cyclone Slash. I follow up RS & CS with Gale and then use Wirlwind Cut to clean up what's left and quickly raise my WP. Then basically I rinse and repeat until my Black Spirit rage is full and that's when I use Dragon Bite on as big a pull as I safely can. I'll use my small pull rotation when big pulls aren't available or if I'm going against 1 or 2 purples. Once I get my Ultimate: Nemesis Slash I most likely use it against 5-7 targets to replenish my HP.

I hope this guide helps explain the Musa a little better and provides some guidance to those looking to try this class. While I love my Wizard, this Musa is by far a better class choice for me and has become my main. I encourage everyone to please add your own rotation tips and advice so we can all benefit from everyone's experiences with this amazing class.

To add to above.

Rising Storm is cast able immediately after Carver strikes a mob.  This must be done with key combinations vice quickslots.

For up to level 40 your play should be Rising Storm - Carver - Rising Storm - Carver ...repeating.

Always consume black spirit with "Z" for the buff.  The buff of 50% attack speed for out weighs any one dmg skill.

Gear wise.  Grunil helmet and gloves,  Taritas armor and shoes.  You want all the WP you can get.  Yuria blades.

DP registering is currently bugged, be prepared to take a lot of damage around level 32.  This will get patched soon I'm sure.

A lot of skills, not just on Musa, will not fire off if on cooldown from the quickbar.  Try them using the correct key combination (i.e space + LMB) though and you'll be surprised a lot of them are spammable just minus the knockdown, float, etc effects.

There is also no game violation by using a keypad, gaming mouse etc with the game.  The only violation is when you alter it to send data to the game when you are AFK.  As long as you are having to press a key on the console then you are perfectly fine.

I use a G13 key pad, and G600 mouse and have been since the days of Rift.  I never bot with them or go afk while sending key strokes.

Edit: oh yea what Jace said above don't fire multiple skills with one button..  But you can align them to roll them out faster such as 1 2 3 4 on your keypad.  There really is no reason to bind more than one action to one button due it causing you to be an absolute disaster in PvP.. lol. Know what each skill does and use it accordingly.

As reminder. You are not allowed to Macro more than one skill to another key.  Macros one to one are ok like to lay out easier skill combinations thats fine. But macroing multiple actions to another one is not allow by BDO and will get you removed from the game. If you have any argument with that please ask the people on the forums that have already been banned.

Musa iFrame.

The little back spin twirl you do with S + Shift is an iFrame.  Spam as per your amount of stamina allows.

Also I'm finding that holding Shift + LMB (Carver) and then tapping S as you need to evade makes you simply able to take any mob down.  When you twirl away, once or twice, Carver will leap you back on to mob.  Just rinse and repeat.

Enjoy ;)
