Greetings!

Starting with this weeks testing of Land of the Dead we would like to announce the first invitational round of our Guild Focus Group program.

As many of you know guilds are very important to the social development of server communities and often enhance player enjoyment of the game. To that end we want to reach out to those that can provide us with detailed, constructive feedback to help improve the game and better foster the communities unique to each server as well as to help thoroughly test new content when it arrives on the PTS.

If you are a guild leader (or want to suggest it to your guild leader) and this sounds like its right up your alley we encourage you to apply!

In order to be accepted you and your guild will need to explore the Lands of the Dead, this application is based on feedback of your experiences there. Please be sure to fill out all requested fields.

We strongly encourage honesty but expect all responses to be mature and constructive. Should you be accepted we will contact you at the email provided and welcome you to the program.

Requires some LoTD PTS action.

My vote for inclusion in the answer to the final question on the application: More crafting! I've been trying to get/keep my friends interested in this game for months, but it's very difficult with no blacksmithing, armorsmithing, etc. DAoC had a great crafting system overall, and with a few minor tweaks to make the actual act of creation a bit more engaging (instead of just watching a little bar fill up), that system could do well with WAR, especially since they already have a tiered armor system. Moreover, the resources themselves could become a part of the PvP war. After all, people didn't fight over keeps to fight over keeps... they fought over them because of the land (and resources) those keeps protected. I see expanding crafting to include armor, weapons, and jewelry to be the next major step toward making WAR a more sustainable game, both for myself and my friends.

On the crafting note; Could you imagine if you could only butcher/salvage in a zone if that zone was controlled by your Realm, or even contested in the majority by your realm. Of course that would mean they would have to limit salvaging/butchering by tier as well. Could be interesting. Cultivating would have to have some limitations added to it though.

Crafting is one of the things that really baffled me about WAR. I like what they did with the Apoth and Tails esp after the revamp but no other crafting? I agree that lack of a crafting variety has hurt this game.

Their plan was to make things more War-centric during development, meaning that everything tied into the primary campaign somehow. Unfortunately, they made a determination at some point that crafting somehow wouldn't fit into the overall campaign. But, of course, my contention has always been that there's nothing more natural to fight over than scarce resources... the kind which would be required for blue or purple crafted items.

I actually hate crafting - I really do - but I do love gathering resources. If they would implement weaponsmith or armorsmith and require mining - I would be al over mining - give me a pick!
