I have a bad history of headsets breaking or just wearing out on me. So for my last headset, I thought I got smart and bought one with a USB adapter figuring if the headset breaks I can buy any ole headset to plug into it. Well the headset is still great but the dang adapter died. /cry
I tried headsets once upon a time. It didn't feel very good so I gave it back and got a stand alone mike the next day. That mike still works to this day!
I have a "mike on a stand" too that works really well. But, my headphones are wireless which is nice, because I can AFK to the kitchen for a beer... and still hear vent, or even if Destro started smacking my character - It makes for some occasional sprints-back-to-the-computer though... Usually just in time to hit the respawn button... heh heh...
Oh, I still use a wireless mouse - but for a little while I tried out a wireless keyboard - I would not suggest doing that, 'cause i ended up with noticeably annoying lag... and had to go back to a USB keyboard (I play on a laptop, but those keys have all started popping off).... heh heh...
The wireless headphones sounds like a good idea.
In the defense of headsets, they will ALWAYS have superior voice quality to a comparably priced stand-up mike.
