Sever Disconnects, advice needed.

Howdy all.

Last night I was having lots of trouble flying from one zone to another while waging war against the muppets in T4 Orvr. Paying the flight master to change zones became an invitation to lock up on a loading screen and see my character selection choices again. Sometimes after multiple logins (which all led back to loading screens, lock ups, and character selection) the Server would give up all together and disconnect me. I'd log back in, stare at a loading screen for an anxious moment, and then appear back in my original zone of departure staring into the flight master's soulless eyes as he dared me to try again.

(Side note. I hate, hate, HATE having to watch that flight animation in the best of times. I would love to be able to disable it all together. Once we fly from a zone for the first time, we should unlock the option of turning off flight animations imo. Ben, please tell Andy this on my behalf! *grin* But I digress.)

I wasn't the only one having all this trouble. Whenever I did successfully Zone (took six tries once) someone in WB was invariably raging about all the offliners needing to be kicked or people not zoning and moving fast enough towards objectives. It looks like 1/4 of my warband were having the same issue. Other alliance folks reported similar troubles. Maybe Badlands is crumbling under the weight of all the re-rolls from other servers. *shrug*

Certainly, Mythic needs to step up and work on things on their end. I'd like to meet them halfway though. Here at last is the point of all this. Is there anything I can do on my end to increase the chances that I'll successfully zone?

Have you tried clearing your Cache? nuke everything in that folder within your warhammer directory. That often times fixes it when it happens to me. Also a full file check may be in order. I know theres been a lot of badlands server stability issues as we have 3x the number of players of any other server. Im sure mythic is working on something to resolve the issue.

I don't think there's much that an individual can do to combat this. It seems to me that what we're experiencing in-game is the culmination of a heavy influx of players to Badlands coupled with Mythic's attention being divided between maintaining existing servers and dealing with the launch of the new European realms.

Long load times between zones and occasional boot from server here. I read somewhere that Bioware has been given the control over Warhammer.

Howdy all!!!!! Well I am enjoying my new computer allot.. I have had no disconects or delay at all... now saying that there may be other reasons.. 1 playing on ironrock.. WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE? in playing on this server i have never seen more than 2 wbs. I have also seen only 1 instance where a city was captured. This doesnt mean it doesnt happen more but this server is dead. Going into the city is is like going into an evactuated area. I dont know why this server is even alive!! BTW my pc has 8g of memory and a super fast processor so I dont know if the lack of crashing is the pc or lack of sever strain. Old

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was able to play last night with no DC's. Whether that's due to a fix or the result of lower populated evening is beyond me ken. The flightmasters guild and I are on speaking terms again. I won't be turning my back on one anytime soon though. Oh, and NERF Roar. He's clearly overpowered now that he's playing destro. :)

You are not the only one by far and this has been coming for over a month. People have been commenting of the degraded preformance of the server but its been written off as problems on the individuals end, be it the rig or internet. If you look at offical forums you can see posts dating back to like 2-3 week of June about the beginnings of whats happening enmass now. I just quit in disgust on Monday when it wouldn't even let me log into half my toons and have not been back yet. Some people have pondered if it may be an ISP issue tagged along with server influx, cause it seems to affect peple at random. We had nearly half a WB crash every two seconds and the other half was fine. And my rig is no super computer but its got 6 gigs of ram and a dual core processor and over the last month I have had to slowly notch down my in game graphics to keep playing at a competative rate until I just couldn't go down anymore. (I could play up to 4/5 WBs with full draw distance and spell affects before) Ghosting and targets warpping around make it kinda hard to time key KDs to kill healers as an IB no matter what the forums say about being OP. Also I did hop over to see what Ironrock was like on some of my destro, like Roar, and had no problems what so ever so it looks more an more like a Badlands server issue.

Its been 6 months since I've had crash issues... and I think Mythic has made great improvements to the stability of the game. However, I would confirm the "something changed about 3 weeks ago" comment. Thats when I started crashing again. Last night there were 2-4 of us running scenarios as a group. I didn't crash, but my compatriots did... and one time, Stean found himself in a different scenario altogether than the rest of us (first time I've seen that happen... heh heh...)

Okay... so I had the weirdest freakin' experience tonight during the city defense. I was having horrible long load times trying to get into Altdorf... finally I get in after crashing to desktop. In city defense, I crash out again (having never had crash problems going back a year or so.) I figure, okay, I'll log out and restart game. Three x I get patcher errors upon trying to restart, but I get in and can't get handshake to server. Bah! I decide on a reboot of computer. Only the computer goes into a weird sleepy hibernation mode where it has power, fans are blowing, but no boot....monitor keeps giving me the no signal message blah blah blah. After a few curses and a lot of muttering and banging around I call my brother in law and ask him what he thinks. His ridiculous answer is...shut it down, unplug from wall, hit the power button half a dozen times (I do and I hear clicking in my disconnected tower) then plug it back in and fire it up. The strangest part? IT FREAKIN WORKED. Something about clearing capacitors etc... but what causes this problem? I've never heard of nor have experienced such ridiculous symptoms. I'm chalking it up to a ghost in my machine. What a crock of crap.
