Change your passwords folks. More and more accounts are being messed with.

We had a scare last night while doing Lost Vale. Craythur kept on disconnecting. He tried relogging, restarting, rebooting, restarting his modem, etc, but it kept happening. We're not sure, but we suspect that his account might have been accessed from an outside source. We are hopefully and probably wrong, but nonetheless there's been an increase of these of late with folks losing everything and Mythic extremely slow and non existent on replacing items.

SO CHANGE ALL YOUR GAME PASSWORDS!

http://accounts.eamythic.com/

To change your account login password, you have to go to your subscriptions page and change it there.
To change your master account login password, select your master account password on the first screen in the account management.

In the time it takes to read this, you can change both passwords. Of course, don't forget what you've changed it to. I highly recommend doing it NOW.

I don't think anyone deserves to get their account hacked for any reason, whether or not they are security aware. It pisses me off when people spam that sort of garbage on forums. However, with the rise in accounts being hacked, it would probably be a good idea for everyone to change their passwords and do virus/spyware scans. Also, I highly recommend not following links from the main forums. Several of my friends in BE have been hacked, and they are all active forum-users, which is really the only other commonality they have besides being in the same guild.

It was pretty frustrating to be continually DC'd during our "Please don't laugh Craythur needs PVE gear" Lost Vale Run. My apologies again for holding the group back. I think my problem was AT&T/Mythic related. I found this on the WHO forums today: http://forums.warhammeronline.com/warhammer/board/message?board.id=gd&thread.id=6512 So I wasn't the only one having an interesting evening. I don't think my account was being hacked. But it might have been. I did change my password just in case. :) I encourage everyone to change your passwords. I also encourage everyone to email Mythic and ask them to give us a way to RVR for Dark Promise and Tyrant awesomeness! 8P

Just remember not everyone is computer savvy or understands how the internet works. Just cause someone doesn't have anti virus or anti spyware doesn't mean they should get hacked. THey may not know or understand. Anyone who helped friends and family with their computers can relate. No on DESERVES to get hacked except maybe the hackers themselves. Password Tip Use a mix of numbers, letters, capitol letters and if it possible to do toss in some symbols too. Also the longer the PW the lesser chance it has of being hacked. At minimum it should at least 8 characters long. Examples and do not use these as a PW :P 12Abc345 12(Abc)345 and if you want to get real creative (1)2A@bc%34$5 Even by doing this there is still no 100% guarantee that you wont get hacked, but it cant make it more difficult.

i agree 100% with korzak. There are some precautions u can take to avoid getting hacked but if u think u are safe from a hacker TRUST me u are never fully safe just don't draw attention to your self and take these listed advisory's.

As I have said a million times. "If man can make it, Man can break it" There is no prevention for hacking. Only things that make their lives harder. Be safe and change your passwords frequently. That way if you DO end up on a List your information wont be valid by the time they sell you. The guys cracking accounts first crack the account, add it to a database where gold farmers / power levelers will access it when your numbers pulled. This sometimes can be months after a breach. If you make a habit of changing your PW every month you will reduce your chances by a long shot.
