Yeah I have been keeping a weather eye on this since it was just called Heroes of Telara. The concept for the world looks like it is going to be very in depth. And with the nature of the 6 planes they have tons of room for expansion and story archs. All wild assumption but looking at the new site they may have up to 32 base classes with the ability to customize or specialize as a multi class by absorbing the souls or essence from enemies. Human and plane entity hybrids for the various playbale races, a long with your traditional high fantasy races. It all looks very cool.

Found some interesting information about the game today. You may recognize the name of their Producer: Adam Gershowitz former Mythic Producer. Will Rift: Planes of Telara have a meaningful death penalty? Adam: There will be penalties for dying in Rift, though calling them “meaningful” is really dependent on who you ask. We are designing death in such a way that adds some risk to the game, but does not necessarily penalize players for taking the occasional gamble. We all need to stretch out our characters from time to time, to see what they can really do. Will there be forced PvP on PvE servers? Adam: PvP will be completely consensual on PvE servers. Players will always have the choice on whether or not they wish to participate in PvP. Keeping in mind things like “Attacking other PvP flagged players”, “Entering a PvP flagged area”, and “Attacking other realms PvP flagged NPCs” all count as deciding to participate! We want to thank all of our fans for asking great questions on the forums! Some additional tidbits I found looking around are that they are right now planning on having up to 16 classes in the game and with the "soul system" players will be able to kind of combine aspects of up to 3 different classes as they progress to the level cap, which if I remember correctly is set at 50 from one article I read. Also the Rift system may look familiar as the next step in WARs PQ system since some former Mythic Devs are working on this title. The coolest thing about the rift system for me is that some may have set semi permanant settings as part of story progression but the majoirty of the rifts are randomly generated and not set to a static spawning rotation. It seems that any and every action taken by a player has the potential to casue a rift or add to the creation of a rift in the world. So if you are sitting at some village crafting a sword and you fail the craft check or what have you this event may infact spark a rift creation in that town! I must say for such early footage the game looks very polished and the pve concept promising.
