I heard about this the other day and have been curious as to the plausibility. Mystrii and other high rr SW what do you know about spec'ing this way and its viablity?
Someone said in chat that there are some on destro that say that a melee spec'd sw can take out a chosen solo.
I think what's interesting about it, is that if it's plausible, it's totally outside the normal realm of thought when playing a SW.
Not so true, I can beat a chosen on my BW rather often, and my WL can take one apart when I'm parry spec'd (which isn't often grant you but still happens). I'm just curious how much avoidance you'd have to stack to make it happen.
The Shadow Warrior that I play (Catbow) gets dropped like a bag of dirt in any melee fights, so it would seem to me that you would have to put everything in toughness to even start to make up the light armor. Of course, don't Witch Hunters have light armor as well?
Wow, it's too funny that ya'll bring this up right now. I just happen to have gone full melee Shadow Warrior as part of my Assault Project. I can easily see it being plausible for a decent SW to take down melee, the damage isn't bad.
However, as we all know, the enemy travels in packs and frankly without guard and a good healer you are smoked the second they dog pile you. Even if you avoid the dog pile, the enemy range totally rips you up, even using Concealment (increased resists) doesn't help when a good sorc or SH targets you.
The mortality rate is extremely high, and honestly the damage is not high enough to make up for that in my opinion. You have to be absolutely insane to actually enjoy getting owned like that - and, yes, "I" had an absolute blast ;)
