New members and retired members

I've recently been recruiting players that I thought well of and that participate in orvr regularly. As a result, we're getting a good "younger" push in member participation.

One thing I noticed when looking at our roster is a couple things:
1. We're almost at the cap of 400 players. Once we hit this, we won't be able to recruit any more until we do some house cleaning.
2. There's some players less than level 20 that haven't signed on since February or March of 2009. That's quite some time to not have played. Are we expecting these folks to come back or should we clean those folks out and send a mailer stating "We'll gladly invite you back once you log on." etc etc.

Just wondering how we as a guild handles this. Mainly more curious than anything.

Perhaps Vamp was being deliberately cryptic? Y'know, to establish some air of mystery? OOoooOOOoooh... Yeah. It's Friday. Don't wanna be at work. My commentary will most likely be even pithier than usual.

Some of our members are unavailable to get to their account (Being out of the country, work, financial reasons) but I agree, also. Perhaps we could look into clearing out some of the serious lowbies who have not been on at all in 2009. :)

Don't worry Vampiresbane. I do have a plan to start phasing out the characters that never registered to the website and have been offline the longest. I want to hold our population around 490 - 495 once we hit 495 i will start phasing. A little history behind the Gaiscioch family is that when we started on our server a good chunk of our people were soldiers. by last winter they got sent overseas. The last thing i want to do is take away their home while their away. That is why i will selectively remove people. IN addition I ask that people move their secondary characters to the Gaiscioch na Anu. As we grow I am hoping we can move to a 20% / 80% split of 2 Characters in Primary Family the rest in the Secondary family. This is the very reason we created the Duo Family approach. That and being able to claim 2 keeps at a time. We need to make sure to let the new members know that we are a very large family with 2 rooms in our house. They should have active characters in both families. We also have a crafting vault in the Na Anu which can be very useful to crafters. Both Halves are run by me and both families are actively playing on the server. This is not a dump all your unplayed characters here family. We try to place active characters in both families. Donulliam is primarily over there to help keep the family growing. It is my hopes eventually that both families will break the 400 mark. Totally fine by me; just wanted to know the plan so I could work with it and follow what you guys have planned. Players that are in the military, I have found, tend to be great teammates. I also would not want to have them removed from the guild. Side question: I'm working on Talisman/Salvaging on my main. How do I access possible materials if the bank on the "Na Anu" section holds them?

you need to make a character join the second family. Once your in don or I can promote you up to the same rank you are in the primary family. Once your Treubh or higher you will be able to take anything from page 1 in the vault. I try to throw in all the hard to find stuff / essences in there. Im also going to put some lower level talismans in there for the family to use. I just cleared out all the grey dye to make room for more crafting stuff.

That makes sense. And I should get Moradon guilded in Anu then, since if I get bored on Bryg, I go to her and her T1 SW awesommey goodness. Ok. She's probably not awesome, but I have a thing for plinking people with arrows from a great distance.
