I think it's incredibly pretty! I also think it's incredibly laggy! LOL!! I tried to play for a little bit around 11 last night when I logged from WAR, and it was just...ugh. It was awful. Stutter stepping for the five minutes I was in before I gave up. Or got a headache.
I don't know if it's just that I don't have a powerful enough comp/vc (granted, mine's home built, and I've swapped out parts as recently as...last year, I think? Pretty good nVidia card and AMD proc, just don't remember the specs off the top of my head), or if the servers are really just that laggy, but it's kinda ruining the fun for me. I like the customization in a huge way, and I've poked around on both Elyos and Asmodian a bit (Asmo on another server), and both races appeal to me. Asmo maybe a little more so, which is odd since I tend to join the "do gooders". Hee hee.
Downside - I've also heard that it's a lot like City of Heroes, where most of the good stuff happens when you're grouped. That's an issue for me. It's not that I don't like to group, but a)I'm INCREDIBLY picky about who I group with and b) my play hours are such that I tend to wind up soloing most of the time I'm in ANY game. Which is why I like WAR so much. I can level up in ORvR and usually find some sort of WB to run with on any given night (and then leave when the leader turns out to be a dip to search for another one. *grin*), but I'm afraid that it won't be like that in Aion. But the guild may play a factor in that as well...
So, I'm torn. I can maybe stretch the budget to two games (had WoW and WAR going for a bit, until I just canned the WoW sub until the next x-pak. Just not enough to keep me interested with my 80 warrior, and I'm not an altoholic), but I'm not sure Aion should be that second game. Granted, it's Open Beta, so it's gonna be all sorts of mayhem while they tinker with things to (hopefully) get them "just so". I've really liked what I've seen so far, but I have to take the other factors into consideration.
I realize this is probably much more long winded than you expected, but that's what heppens when you get me talking. *grin*
