Hey Everyone,
As i've shuffled my events around I purposely left Friday's open to host some events in new and upcoming worlds. There is a new Free-2-Play game created by Webzen (see: Rappelz, MU, C9, FlyFF) that I have found is not Microtransaction heavy. (I've spend 0$ on it and I hit max level in under 20 hours.) It's format is very classic Diablo with click to move. There are no WASD movement controls. You're given a series of skills that you can choose which to equip and they improve the more you use them allowing you to socket runes in them to make them more powerful. There are a total of 65 character levels, and from what I can tell an unlimited amount of Soul Levels. Soul levels allow you to put points in a 16 branch tree to improve your character. Character levels unlock new skills.
We currently have a guild open as "GSCH" on the "Anilata" server. You can join the Social Adventure at: http://gsch.info/sa/mul
Prepare for War!
In January MU Legend OBT will release the territory control system which I am hoping we can get up on in some form or another. Right now there are 8 of us playing and we will need a few more to be able to take on some of the bigger guilds in their siege war system. I will be streaming the game a bit every Friday to show you what it's like. We should be able to capture something even if for a little while before some zerg guild tries to take it from us.
Guild System
For issue 15 I'm writing a Getting Started Guide For Guild Masters. Guilds are scary at first. They require 5 Million zen which below level 55 seems like a terrible grind. It seemed like it would take months to get there. But as you unlock the daily dungeons cash becomes more available in bulk. When you hit 55 you unlock a daily dungeon that will net you 700k to 1 million zen every day. The other scary thing I read is that the guild has to pay 50,000 zen every week to continue using it's buffs and I thought players woul d have to be taxed for that. Well that too wasn't true. Every time you pick up a coin, the guild picks up a coin. It starts at a 1 to 1 radio and by leveling your guild that becomes up to a 2 to 1 ratio. Guild members NEVER have to donate money to the guild. In fact for their contribution they earn contribution points that can be spend on the guild store coming in January. Their guild system has progression and the guild size grows as the guild levels up. Right now we are capped at 20 characters but when we hit rank 4 probably later today we will be able to have 30. That number goes up to 100.
My Thoughts
I have played a ton of ARPG's including Diablo 1-3, Darkstone, Mythos, Devillian, Guardians of Ember, Victor Vran, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Van Helsing Trilogy, and countless others. For some reason I can't really put my finger on, MU Legend keeps calling me back ever since Smitty introduced me to it about a year and a half ago. It has it's flaws, mainly the lack of WASD controls which makes movement while performing combat difficult at times. But with the right mouse setup for skills on right click and left click you can set your dodge for your right click which will help you get out of the way of the 1 shot kill abilities of the bosses. It's a trick i picked up from another player i've been adventuring with late night. My favorite thing about this game is EVERYTHING can be done solo or with a group for better loot. You can even change the difficulty of things across the 5 star system on each difficulty level. So if a dungeon is to easy you can throttle it up to what you feel is a good level. Your rewards will increase as well. There's a lot of depth to the game and I suspect that given a chance many people would enjoy it.
Join us
My hope is that I can convince 10 - 20 Gaiscioch to try it out so that we get our numbers high enough to start pulling in some of the outside players into our community. With the siege system, airships, and raiding potential this game offers I could see us doing relatively well for a social adventure. As we speak I am filling our guild vault with Legendaries and Artifacts for when our members hit 65.
