Building a Source Engine

I was recently told, and I do agree, that my source engine sucks. It does. Not ruling that out at all.

So I decided to start working on a new engine. So far I have the Sublime Coruscating Brimstone essence, and it's already almost as nasty as my current one. I'm also going to be putting Pyro Flare or whatever the best Fire resist one is in the place Sylver is. Besides that, what else should I put on it? Fire resist is preferred, and could be handy seeing as fire damage is one of the more common damagetypes in the world (also would help me later on in Infernal Dawn and RotP), what essences would I want on this thing? I am trying to make one that I won't have to go back and replace ever again, since it was expensive enough to get these essences.

If your building one with a specific resistance in mind, don't forget the new source engine runes offered by the planar faction vendors.

Well of course not ;) thanks for reminding me! 30000 planarite and 60 inscribed sourcestones ... ISS aren't the problem, getting that much planarite is, though, LOL

You should look into getting the ones as the elemental venders for the 100 inscribed each. I've found they offer the best stats (and resistances) to create whatever you need. If you are looking to build a strictly fire resist, the fire element vender in meridian would be your best bet as there are (I believe) 6 with resist +19 (disregarding stats of course) Personally I use a variety of the ones best for my builds that I use in PvE and PvP Right now my current one is just mediocre with +88 int +42 wis +29 End and +65 spell crit (well and +75 valor for PvP) I could have more base stats but I'm using 2 greater essence for abilities instead of just all stats ones :)

Doesn't ID have fire and earth bosses, so probably need resists for both?

But if you're doing HK then the Barancle Encrusted sigils/machines already have a built in +20 H2O resist.

How much resist to an element do you need for each raid? Or is +20 enough?
