Experimenting with Stormcaller

I'd tried Pyromancer out for quite a while, but I found it never yielded quite the kick I wanted in PVP. Most of Pyromancer's spells are good for single-target, but what about against groups? No way, I'm easy pickings. I decided I'd tinker with Stormcaller instead, but I'm having some trouble configuring it and figuring out how it works / what rotation to use / etc.

Here's the build I worked out: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0zIyq.e0c0h.VGVAMAukrz.Vh.-5

As far as I can tell, this should work great. I tried to make it as durable as I could, with minimized possibility of interrupted spellcasting. Aside from that, I tried to increase my critical hit chance as much as possible, and maximize my air/water damage without too much loss to my skills.

Thing is, I look at how many different abilities I have, and I don't even know where to start. What do I use in what order, what can I macro, how do I put all these spells on the ability bar while keeping them comfortably close to eachother, and most importantly, how can I maximize my efficiency with minimal headache?

Any advice or ideas you could give would be much appreciated. I tinkered with Stormcaller in my lower levels and loved it, but now I'm finding it to be a lot more complex than it was in the past. I'm frankly lost.

Thank you all for reading!

Well, you have quite a selection of aoe spells as Stormcaller. You could start out casting flash freeze when there's a nice group of red together, to freeze them in place, then cast your Arctic Blast (either normally or instantly with your Absolute Zero spell used) to slow them down, then either load up with Forked Lightning or Thunderstorm to get 3 stacks of electrified. Then when you have your 3 stacks, you want to spam your instant Lightning Field spell until you are about to run out of stacks, then cast another Forked Lightning so you can keep up the Lightning Field. Or, you can nuke them pretty decently with Lightning Burst, but that removes all your stacks and you have to reapply them all and repeat. That's your aoe rotation pretty much. Your Forked Lightning has a 1.5s cast time, which is fairly quick. Then you also have your single target spells of Thunderbolt, Icicle, and Cloudburst/Iceshear. Thunderbolt to get your 3 stacks, Icicle to reduce their movement speed, and Cloudburst/Iceshear when you have 3 stacks. You also have Electrocute and Raging Storm to put 3 stacks of Electrified on your single target, both channeled, with Electrocute having the added bonus of throwing them back some feet away from you. As for macros, I have no clue as I don't use macros myself, so I can't help ya out with that part. Hope this helped a little. Opening up with your Flash Freeze will have a chance to make your opponents use their break free, so they have no way to remove the movement reduction from your Arctic Blast, though without the Absolute Zero active, will remove the rooted effect of Flash Freeze as it does damage, but with Absolute Zero active, it too freezes them in place.

Very helpful info ... I think I've figured out the rotation without having to macro too much. I have to say though, this is one complex class; they were right, it takes a while to warm it up, but once you do the AOE damage is chart-topping. I like it a lot better than Pyromancer. Still, will take time to master it.
