Old School DAoC - Comes to Rift

Ages ago I believe I stumbled across this guild. However, it was likely as I was playing a Mid on Nimue back in 2001. I ran with many guilds back then and several alliances. Perhaps someone might remember, if I drop some names. I played on three characters. One named Kalicous (Healer), one named Sufikie (Shadowblade), and the last named Vralhac (Spiritmaster). I played in guilds named Northern Guard, Final Eclipse, Mayhem, and finally founded Cadre. We trained countless folks in PvP and reformed many alliances. It was tons of fun and Numue was the most mature of all the severs I can remember. Back then our focus was to disrupt and destroy the guild/alliance known as Retribution.

Perhaps that rings a bell, perhaps not. It was after all, eleven years ago. Anyway, I was invited to join on the Rift chapter, and stumbled across the website. It was like going down memory lane seeing games like DAoC and Warhammer stream across my screen. Fun times. When DAoC finally started to combine their servers and even eventually turn back the clock and re-enable the classic servers my guild re-started on a Hibernia side. However, real life has a way of tugging some game obligations to pieces and we eventually drifted apart.

Rift comes close to the play style I enjoyed on Nimue. So I've come back and hope to participate as much as I can on my lvl 50 mage. I've not really sunk my teeth into the raiding yet, but it looks like fun.

Hope to see you in game...and for any former Hibs from old Nimue, be kind, I was only following orders taking your relics so often . :)

So easy to hear and remember how great that game was once upon a time. I was on Tristian, but was a Middie as well, thinking now, I miss my skald. But too, a saving grace is just around the corner as GW2 is offering more of that same Old Tyme DAoC lovin' .. in the very near future as a matter of fact! <3

Rift reminds me of DAoC also, quite a lot in fact. I played for years on Percival (Hibernia, Enchanter and Bard mostly). Then I moved to Gaheris because I really wanted to play all factions and, well...I was just dreadful at RvR and was tired of being farmed. Hehe. On Gaheris, I found a sort of PVE heaven and eventually leveled up eleven L50 characters. In between DAoC and Rift, there were six years of WoW. But who's counting? And I didn't mind the Mids as much as I did the Albs. Quite frankly getting mezzed by some Sorc at bolt range got real old, real fast. :)
