Creating Events... Just not getting it

I am allowed to created events I hold now, but cannot seem to figure it out (so maybe that's a sign). I get to the create event (or the claim leadership page) not really sure which to use. I pick event, time, etc... then save or start... but then what. I know I tried a dungeon but there should be bosses and it doesnt show up on the event list. So I am doing something very wrong.

Bosses are not dungeons. They are boss creatures. Under type select "Boss Creature". Inside the new list of targets will be a list of every boss creature in the game. Creating an event is more about scheduling in advance. It doesn't tie into the leadership system other than providing the name of the event in the drop down. That's mostly for rsvp and building groups.
