Some thing i wrote a few years back but might give the family a few smiles for the holidays.
Wow first day tree duty, they said I was too little to go with them on the quests but they said it’s really portant to have a fairy on the tree so I guess I’m special. It is so nice to look down and see that elf girl smiling about the present she got but i do wonder why some give you a quail and a fruit tree silly thing doesn’t even have proper wings.
~sigh~ day two and no one is back yet except the delivery boy. If it’s so portant I be up here I wish some one would visit, the elf girl isn’t much company she just keeps cooing and making silly talk to the two doves that arrived.
Yay fresh eggs today its seems the wood elf girls friend has some sense after all we have chickens now, I do wonder if he has some sort of bird problem though. I wonder if egg white is good for needle rash.
~grumbles~ I had to whack one of the doves on the head today it wanted to sit on me at least the quail and the chickens stick to the floor but it’s getting crowded now the four calling birds arrived today.
I gots shinys ~smiles~ another day another present today it was five golden rings the elf tied to the tree with little pink ribbons, its 4 rings now ~giggles ~I’m sure she wont miss it and I’ve been working hard I deserve one.
Eggs again ~sigh~ I’m getting sick of them what with the three chickens and now six geese were having them morning noon and night, well five geese now I had to get off the tree to go to the little fae’s room and one bit me, have you ever been bitten by a goose at least there will be roast dinner for tonight.
Almost a full week now and I swear the tree is growing, I’m not sure if it is trying to get away from the smell or it’s just all the fertiliser. The quail, chickens geese minus one doves and swans are making quiet a mess the poor wood elf girls is looking a little pale as well I think all the noise is keeping her awake.
Day eight and yay finally some help well we thought so till the eight girls that turned up today pointed out they were milk maids not house maids and until we get a cow they aren’t doing any thing union rules they said. The poor elf girl just went into the kitchen as had a cry when they said that she is hardly eating and not looking well and I think my tree rash is coming back.
One less quail but its isn’t much help on the space problem, one of the dancing ladies stood on it hardly surprising seeing how crowded it is now since the nine dancers turned up it really makes me wonder about the elf girls friend chickens and girls sort of wearing nothing but handkerchiefs doesn’t seem right. I think my rash is worse today I feel itchy all over. The little elf girl hardly comes out of her room now.
There was a brawl today ten guys in really nice clothes turned up and the maids and the dancing ladies got into a big fight over them all the birds tried to get into the tree at once and I had to stab a swan in self defence they might look all graceful and nice but they are nasty buggers when you back them into a corner. I’m not sure it’s a rash any more I think its some thing worse I feel all hot and flushed and there is a strange light around me and the top of the tree seems a little brown. There was a man in a suit came for a while to day, the elf girl spent most of the time crying but I think I heard some thing about a straining order.
Leven days and they still haven’t come to see me its not fair the straining thingy didn’t help a bunch of guys pushed in today saying they were hired they wus going to play then every one got into a fight about what to play. The elf girl just sits in the corner now and rocks the dancing girls have taken the bedroom but the maids are planning some thing to get it back. One of the swans pecked a dove all to a pile of feathers and some things wrong with the tree I can smell a burning smell at least I don’t have to fight for my spot any more I thinks the birds are all scared of me now I feel all hot and sparkly.
That’s it I’m out of here the elf girl doesn’t even rock any more she just sits there in the bird shit staring, you can hear your self think any more since the drummers arrived. The maids ganged up on the dancers with the flute players and threw the dancers out of the bedroom no one has come to see me for ages and now I think the trees on fires. No ones going to make me do this again with the shit and the noise and the fights and the poor elfie I’m out of here.

The guard was called today to a disturbance at the Whitefall today after the inn keeper reported rioting in one of the rooms. The guard was surprised to find over fifty people in one suite in a brawl several arrests were made and more may follow the only apparent serious casualty was a young elf found comatose who is now in the care of the temple of life.
The Meridian society for the protection of animals is investigating the apparent large number of birds found poorly fed and watered found living in what were described as deplorable conditions. No explanation has been given for the small fae shaped hole melted through one of the windows or a reason for the apparent spontaneous combustion of a yule tree on the premises.
