I have been having a tough time figuring out the difference between the raptor and wolf pets. I know they are both dps oriented but I can't find a clear explanation of when to use what pet. Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated.

I want to know this too.
This is my understanding from what Ive read and experienced with my rogues. The wolf is both dps/tank hybrid but mediocre in both aspects. Would be like a warrior without a taunt. The pig is pure Tank with a taunt and the raptor pure dps. Use Raptor unless you are soloing in that case use pig. .. once you get raptor the wolf becomes obsolete. Its only good if you dont put 31 pts in ranger :)
Actually the Pig is your tank the Wolf is single target dps and the Raptor is AoE dps. Happy hunting.
