The crafting raids that I started a couple months back has become a huge success for our crafters as a concise place to get plaques, catalysts, and materials. It's become enough of a success that I needed to clarify a few items.
First, we have found that if there are more than 2 raid groups, even if everyone is doing what they're supposed to, lots of people end up not getting the mats, cats, or a chance at a plaque.
This past week, we had Lyrissa take a group up to Stillmoor to try and split some of the large size of what's going on. This worked for the groups in Shimmersand in that they were receiving more minor catalysts & materials, but the group in Stillmoor had severe issues getting rifts to pop with crafting lures.
Because of this, we are limiting the raids to 2 full raid groups on each side, for future crafting raids. People drop in and out enough that I don't think this will be an issue.
Second, Ventrilo. We need everyone in Ventrilo to organize and make things run smooth. Even if you can't speak, you need to be in Vent to listen. Gaiscioch has had the Ventrilo server donated for our use, let's make use of it. IF you have a hearing disability, please let the Raid leader know, and they will assign someone to type out the important details for you to be able to participate as well.
The Ventrilo information can be seen in the Guild Information page, by hitting G in game.
Third, loot rules. We've seen some needing of various things like puresources and potions, but here's how it is. We're running guild loot rules from here on out. Basically: If it's gear (a weapon, chest piece, ring, whatever) and you can use it in 5 levels or less, need it. For anything else, such as puresources or potions, Everyone Greeds. This is all a Family run, let's treat each other like family. =)
Fourth, crafting scheduling. To get the most out of getting plaques, since we are definitely sitting on trying to get 5 plaques a recipe, we're going to set a specific order for the different crafting roles. The order for Rshiel's raid this week is going to be: Artificer, Weaponsmith, Apothecary, Armorsmith, Outfitter, and then Runecrafter. This order will rotate weekly, pushing the first two into the last positions so that those with obligations will still have a chance to attend what they need. For example, the second week will be Apothecary, Armorsmith, Outfitter, Runecrafter, Artificer, and then Weaponsmith. The bet way to see what will be done in the order is to check that weeks post under the event calander.
This way, people will know which toons to bring when. We'll be spending one hour per crafting role, excluding the clearing we do initially. For other crafting raids, this order will likely be adjusted by whomever's leading, and will post that order for the creation of that event.
Fifth, For people below 42. IF you are below 42, you will be marked so the highers can protect you. We will mark a tank with a 1 for the lowbies. That tank will always go to the opposite side of the rift that the raid enters from, and will pull mobs specifically for the lowbies. If you are not below 42, you will ignore that mob, and stay away from the lowbie tank. With us keeping the raid limited to 40 people including lowbies at a time, this should not be a difficulty at all.
Sixth, how to play in this type of event. No one will use Area of Effect spells, no one will use pets (lowbies included). These limtitations allow everyone to have the highest chance of participation. You will hit a mob once per round then stop dpsing. So that all members now that we have defiant family with us get a chance at contribution.
Lastly: Rally Banners and Rally Scrolls. Please bring BOTH (at least one banner) to the raid. These are found on the Guild Charter Magistrate in Sanctum in the Tavern in the eastern part of Sanctum behind the Citadel. The overweight guy, named Gilbert Hilberto, who generally sits by the fire.
Rshiel (and Lyrissa) will be going back to school as of the first week of September (That Friday will be September 2nd, and we'll not be at home, we'll be in class). Rshiel's raid will be starting Saturday mornings instead at that point updated 10/31/2011
