plans for the 1.4 epic crafting recipes (updated)

I was looking at what it would take to craft the new recipes that are going in with 1.4 and it occurred to me that this is almost tailor-made for the Family. The refined material recipes cost (20 plat?) each to train and have a 20 hour(changed from 24 hour) cooldown per bar. This means that if I'm fortunate to have master-level crafters I can theoretically make most of my own armor set BUT it would take several weeks (and several hundred plat).

When I get home I'll link the thread with the stats and such (which is going to be some of the best stuff in slot pre-hammerknell and the first set of armor to have set bonuses). Each recipe will take 5 crafting plaques to learn. The tanking set for warriors I calculated to cost a total of 268.8 plat (corrected from 991.2) platinum (in material costs alone, not including the 5 plaques per recipe, or the 20 plat for each of the refined material recipes). As an example the Warrior Tank set requires the following:

Cuirass of the Stalwart(8 days)(300 Armorcrafting): = (8*8.4p)+(3*8.4p) = 92.4 plat

2 Eternal Dust

Pauldrons of the Stalwart(6 days)(300 Armorcrafting): = (6*8.4p)+(8.4p) = 58.8 plat

just saw this from the PTS: PTS ONLY: Corrected pricing of Ethereal Flux, Magical Oil, Enchanted Lacquer, and Endless Dust. They should sell for 4 Platinum 20 Silver from vendors. When I get the chance today I'll correct the above calculations for price, but it essentially just got cut by 3/4.

With the number of plaques it takes to get each item, maybe we should figure out who is going to get what patterns so we do not duplicate efforts and have multiple people have certain patterns but then have some patterns who no one purchased? With the number of people in the guild this may not be an issue, but something to think about.

definitely something to think about - I know I'm probably going to have to be happy with one of the recipes to start with, although it's possible I'll have enough plaques for two by the time 1.4 comes out (whenever that is). Here are my priorities for recipe acquisition: 1) Cuirass of the Stalwart (plate tank BP) 2) Heavy Shield of the Stalwart 3) Pauldrons of the Stalwart If I ever get to the point where I have extra armorcrafting plaques, I'll start on whatever the guild doesn't already have. However, that accounts for 15 plaques and I currently have 4 so at a rate of one per week that'll do for another 3 months or so :-P I'm hoping we can pool our resources to get the recipes and materials together so the Family ends up with a large number of server firsts (and of course first kills in HK since we'll have some of the best gear in the game ready to take on the new content)

Too rich for my blood. I'm still amazed at how folks can generate coin. I struggle to get 100 plat just so I can blow it on a mount. Think there's an issue with gold farmers now, wait until this patch goes in.
