As I'm technically a teacher (and in game a healer) I've come across a lot of little things that would have been nice to know. Maybe, I'll publish these all some day. Please add lessons if you like, or PM or mail me to add it later.
Here are some Lessons from Telara we have Learned the Hard way.
Lessons from Telara Learned the Hard Way: Lesson #1 – Never Attack the Porticum Guy Yes, I know… He looks harmless. I mean, he’s not even an elite but, heed my warning. Never. Ever. Attack the Porticum Master. He dies quickly and you feel AWESOME! Then, in the teleporter, an elite team of Defiant Guards spawns. It’s really over quite quick and painfully. A soul walk, port home, and trip to the healer and you’ve now learned an important lesson.
Lessons from Telara Learned the Hard Way: Lesson #2 – Stay away from Meridian. Yes, it looks all shiny and pretty. You may feel drawn in like a bug to that beautiful blue light, but you are flagged as soon as you come near. That means, any PVP enabled Defiant can pick you off… or if you get close enough, a BEAM will light up your life and you will drop DEAD. D.E.A.D. dead! Heed my warning. Swing far or prepare to fight.
Lessons from Telara Learned the Hard Way: Lesson #3 – Never follow a Dwarf I know you’re all tired from your studies, but we have another important subject to cover. You know Dwarfs, or Dorfs, as cute and stout people of Telara. What you may not know is that their dense little bodies allow them to fall from greater heights. It’s a curse and a blessing at the same time. I adore my taller friends, but alas, have had to rez a few after realizing they didn’t survive my playful leap off the mountain. My heart breaks for them. Apparently, no one ever told them to NOT FOLLOW A DORF!
What Beam is that? :D I've been in there several times. Fear Not, What Fears You. Meridian is our second home :D. They just don't know it yet.
I expect all of you to follow me off a cliff if I am the raid leader! (yes I'm a super-cute dwarfess)

Lesson #4 – Do not AFK anywhere. (AFK at your own risk.)
This is a dynamic mob environment, as in patrols and invasions are everywhere. They will get you.

Oh... Good one Fairybella. I think we have learned that one the hard way as well. Go to sleep in a nice little village and wake up to 3000 degree flame bosses kicking you around while they sip on their vino. Fog... there's a guard to the west in the big merchant tent who uses shards of light or something similar... taps you dry. I can't wait to make it our summer home :) It's really pretty and shiny!!!
