The new artifact vault is now open. Add your unused artifacts today for other members of the family to fill their collections. The limit to withdraw is set to allow 1 artifact stack (please put unused back where you found them) per rank in the family starting at Treubh (Registered Member).

My personal policy - is to put one in for each I take out - but that is just me. Thanks for having this - it is a wonderful addition to the vault and I was hoping you would do this.

I think this is great Foghladha ... in fact a similar process is used in my EQ2 guild I co-lead, though we only have 700 accounts and about 1300 toons ... I did speak with one of our Gaiscioch members today who said .. well I don't get credit for depositing ... and I just kinda directed them to a quote by you about marketplace "its not about what you get but that you are sharing and giving". And while in this particular category due to their playtime restrictions they may be able to dontate more than most once I kinda quoted you and told of the success of this type of vault in a 7 year old game .. I think they were satisfied. Not that Fog needs backup, but again in EQ2 in I dunno, the 4th or 5th largest guild in the game ... we employ the same 'SHARING' philosophy with what we call shinies aka artifacts .. there is no reward/gain from donating its a free for all bank vault per our permissions once you have achieved that rank. Most folks are adults and you just should not have the concsience to allow you to always take without giving back or expecting reward. I think this vault is excellent fog. cj

If you notice Contribution is used to test to see if members are willing to give. To become a member of the eldership you must be a person willing to sacrifice. Leadership is not about gaining anything. Its not about selfishness or greed. Its about looking out for others. Its about sacrifice and caring. No Gaiscioch can advance without learning to give. Those who say "why would I give if I don't get credit" are the type I pray never ever ever become an elder of this family. None of our elders gain for the hard work we put into this family. The reward for us is seeing us thrive and people have fun. Sometimes you do thing even when there is no reward. Usually they call this parenting. But I may be wrong.

/ agree Fog. I just can't "take", it feels wrong - and actually giving makes me feel good :)

Fog for those of us not in the guild proper in Rift but who have extra artifacts, who should we send them to? I don't need contribution, but I have these and so do all my friends I know, so I would like to offer them up to a larger group in hopes someone can use them.

I don't give unless I get something back. It would be silly of me to sacrifice for nothing. Most often what I get back is the good feeling that comes from helping someone else. A sort of selfish selflessness.

It would be quite rude not to say thanks to someone who gives you a gift... While the idea of giving rather than receiving is great, I'd hope that it won't turn into a system where there are only some who give, and other who just take.
