How much focus does one need to be able to raid effectively with the senticar spec?
It seems like focus is hard to get as a cleric without taking mage gear. Maybe I'm missing something?
Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not really familiar with that build, but if you need to DPS at all you will need focus to hit the mobs in dungeons/raids. You need 50 focus for T1 dungeons, 100 for T2, and 200 for Greenscale/RoS/Gilded Prophecy.
As for focus gear, off the top of my head:
2x Mathos Rep Rings (20 each)
(Crafted) Spellstaff of Raging Lightning (55)
(Crafted) Cloth Headgear (urm.... 25? 27?)
(Crafted) Head and Leg Runes (18 each)
(Crafted) Wand Rune (13)
that's .... 169, before any dungeon running. Plus I believe the wand rune can be put on mainhand and offhand items.
If this is a healing build, then I don't think you need much focus (but as I'm not a raiding healer I have no idea).
And to answer your question, yes, cloth gear is often best for Clerics, especially if you want Spell Crit. However I personally don't feel right taking cloth gear from Mages.

You need the same focus as a DPS class to be an effective Senticar. One of it's main strengths is the strong DoL heals and you need to build Convictions in order to use them. A miss can be deadly if that prevents you from firing off a timely DoL heal.
As for focus, you can easily achieve the maximum 227 focus with tier 2 gear/enchants.
I'll do a quick run down but if you need more details just send me a tell in game.
MH - 33 Focus (Enthalpy) + 13 Focus Enchant
OH Totem - 39 Focus + 13 Focus Enchant
Ranged - 37 Focus + 13 Focus Enchant
Necklace - 33 Focus
Rings - 29 Focus x 2
T2 Plaque Hands - 27 Focus (approximately)
If you add it all up, you're well over the 227 maximum Focus number needed for Tier 1 Raid dungeons. This is not accounting for the legs/helmet enchant either which I recommend not using unless you need to.

Much appreciated! Running around in my (primarily) PvP gear i have virtually no Focus so i was curious what i would need to do to raid with senticar. I guess I'll have to use a more traditional healing setup till i can upgrade my other gear enough to be able to trade sp and crit for focus. in the meantime i can still senticar in PvP!
