First of all thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am fairly reserved and post very rarely, I am just normally a quiet fellow unless I know you very well.
However, last nights event is just eeeking me to speak up.
I want to publicly thank 'Tor' for showing me something in game that I had yet to experience in over 10 years of gaming, he showed me leadership with a prowess I have never seen before.
I do not know Tor anymore than I know the people likely reading this. The patience demonstrated was absolutely astounding. We failed the Earth Raid a few times, some tense moments among some competitive fellow family members (such as myself). We have all heard stories of leadership or a good officer and I have known many myself.
Tor proceeded to not just explain the raid, that is easy, but he did this with time running down, with such a calm relaxing demeanor letting us know completing the Rift was not the main goal, but our learning and coming together as a unit was what would be considering a victory.
There was never a negative moment and made failure of the Raid Rift fun for me.
I've been in countless raids, countless dungeons, pick up groups and guild groups alike that were just horrid because of the lack of communication and the wrong goal in mind.
For me, Tor's goal was for us to just enjoy our time together as a guild. He brought a light to what I considered the downfall of MMO's, and that is the community within these games.
I took a very important lesson from this evening, and when I now participate in anything with or without our guild, I plan to implement what I have learned.
I know this sounded like a kiss ass post, however I am not concerned with that, it was warranted.
Tor,
I have not grouped with you before this eve, but you have my bow my friend any time you need.
Thank you Gaiscioch for being the family you are. Respect & Honor above all else.
