Greetings from Faeblight

Hello all!

I know that many of you remember me, although it seems hard to forget someone in less than 2 months. However, that is why I am posting.

Once you're family, you are always family... is what I've always known as Tuatha, and especially when I was Gaiscioch. I still keep up with many of you, and have fun doing things together in-game. Gaiscioch has even been in my guild's vent here and there...

All that said, it really sucks when I respond to requests for different things in /tuatha and get treated like a piece of dirt. Yep... dirt. Worse than a regular, non-guilded person running around our server, and definitely not like family.

I stand up for Gaiscioch quite often, fyi. I have had knockdown, dragout fights with people defending the Family since I left the guild. It gets kinda hard though when the accuser has a point.

The focus of this post is - 1) Just to remind folks that know me who I am. 2) To remind people of the image that you stand for when the name 'Gaiscioch' is tagged under your character's name.

I have bled for this family in 2 games now, and absolutely LOVE the people that I know in it. I know that I do not know you all (duh! The reason that I needed to post this. I can be re-re sometimes), but I consider everyone in the Tuatha guilds family.

So, to sum up, Uncle Me is just saying to please remember what you represent, and the decade of time that some people have put into establishing the reputation that Gaiscioch has. Over 10 years to build can be torn apart in this game in a very short amount of time by people that forget this simple thing.

I am in /tuatha on every toon I have. I know every dungeon in this game. If you need me, call. If I call, please do not act like I have to pay you to be your friend/family. Just say no.

(Side Note: It is generally a bad thing to walk into a puzzle someone else is doing and start clicking on stuff. Just FYI.)

I am not sure I understand. Someone requests something in /Tuatha, you respond and they ignore you? I know it is difficult to keep track of /Tuatha and it is easy to miss requests but this sounds like the opposite and that is troubling.

You're still remembered, Corvin. I tend to ignore /tuatha simply because there's way too much going on in all of the other chats, but I'll make a point to watch a little more closely. In other news my 35 Mage would be happy to group with Nemon any time I'm on. We should do a dungeon for old time's sake.

@Mythgarr... Jozak has a 32 Cleric atm and you are MORE than welcome to join us on the path to 50 dungeoneering ourselves to mush. ;-) @Bashir... The /tuatha thing is minimal. The issues are far beyond that. I will specifically message Ben about my particular excruciating experiences with particular members, but for the most part, my post is about image and behaviour on the server. I don't want to see Gaiscioch getting bad talk, and it is happening. I am trying to help by talking about it here, because people are starting to tell me that it is making me look bad standing up for Gaiscioch when they are also having bad experiences. The particular issues, again, I will bring up to the Boss. I will only speak specifically about my direct encounters that were negative.

I think this for the most part goes back to: Family Etiquette But I have a feeling the people in question don't even visit the site. Thats the challenge with open recruitment is getting the ones who are proactive. So far it's usually been the ones who haven't event taken the time to register which cause me the most problems.

Thank you. That is exactly what I'm talking about. And it makes sense, due to the fact that much of the off-behavior I have personally witnessed is from members I've never heard of. I just want it understood that I'm not on here ranting, or even crying, about bs that is just bs. It makes me sad to see so many bad things, bad comments, etc, when I love this group of people so much. I carry on a personal battle with people in defense of what I love. It is saddening, and admittedly, oft times aggravating, when it all seems in vain due to actions from a few. At any rate, this is out there now. I'm glad it is here to be seen as a reminder. I am thankful for the link above, because that is what its all about. I still play with many of you regularly, so see you guys in game!

Fact is, that being large means that your more exposed. The more people that know you the more jealousy, envy, bias, and prejudice form. For a lot of people out there they hate us because we make things look easy, we recruit with open arms, and have a casual attitude toward gaming. Others hate us because quite frankly were so large. You cant move any direction in this game without running into one of us. This means that when 1 person makes a bad impression all of us make a bad impression. With 1,300+ characters now in the family that's 1,300 opportunities to tick someone off and taint the name of the family. For every bad experience we will need to replace it with 10 good experiences. Thats just the nature of the beast. I don't mind the name calling that gets directed at us. It's been there since we started. People calling us a fail guild, or a bunch of assholes, or roleplay retarded. But I have to say, we have 10 years of experience and not a day goes by that someone does not say thank you for being awesome. We can't please everyone, it's the one we can who I aim to please. In the end, people will know us for what we do, not who we are. If we surround ourself with awesome, and continue to help the community as a whole people will see through the one terrible experience from a member who isn't even part of the family any longer and realize that we as a whole are a kind bunch who will go out of our way to help those who desire it. There will be those who hate us because we do what they cant, or simply because they want to hate us. People will find reasons. In the end we log on each day to try to help this server and if that damns our name then so be it. I'll continue spending every logged in hour of my time trying to make this server a better place, show people things they've never seen, and try to involve everyone. I've committed 10 years of my life to building communities, what have they done?
