Let's get this going everyone!!

Hmm well lets see. I'll try the family approach. I deserve it as I am planning on buying RIFT for my wife and welcoming her to the Gaiscioch family. To help with this I am planning on building her comp or building myself a new one and giving her my old one. A shiny new video card could sure help with this! That's my shot. Great idea Ryndrow! And grats to whoever wins this!

A long time ago (2008) in a land far away (Florida), a young woman set out on a quest (literally) to find the perfect combination of portability and kickassery! She stumbled upon the land of Best Buy and entered with heavy hand and light pockets. Hark! There in the distance was a 16" Gateway 6864-FX laptop. Just the device she'd need to feed the growing MMORPG addiction inside! Alas...the poor lass...would soon want to throw the contraption back through the Gateway it had come! BAH! She exclaimed, for any serious gaming would inevitably result in the blue screen of death! After fixes, reinstalls, patches and .wtf file manipulations... the young battle princess would have to live with mediocre mayhem. But now there is hope, perhaps the sad ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 can finally be laid to rest and the images before here eyes can once again glimmer from the shine of her blade! Then, again, perhaps a different gadget and a whole new machine of giddy gameness will once again spark the fierce Rift renegade inside. ...to be continued.

I bought a new comp about a year ago, on black friday super sale for $600 when it was normally $1100. I was planning on Transferring over my Nvidia 8800 GT to the new system. When I tried to install it, the case was too small and the card would not fit. When I got a new case the power supply didn't have the right cable hookup. So I got a new power supply and it turns out that it wasn't compatible with Windows 7. So I went and got a new card (Nvidea GT 220)that a store clerk at Best Buy said was better then my 8800 GT. It turns out it wasn't even half as powerful. And I havn't been able to afford a new card since I moved out of my parents house and in with some friends. (Ripley, you are awesome)

I can't wait for the rest of the story Ripley! ;)

The Ventrilo Saga: ...as you well know, deep within the chasm of the Gateway lies a portal of earthly communication known as Ventrilo. The Gods of Telara have only heard rumors of this portal, but it is the Ascended who hold intimate knowledge of its power and must use it in secret. While the world of Telara is open for all to defend, the Ventrilo portal is reserved for concerted efforts and strategic alliance of earthly guidance for the Ascended protection of Telara. How clever of the Ascended to have harnessed this force and unite in this way. BUT!!!...woe is The Gateway... ...for the primal elements invading Telara have grown wise to the Ventrilo portal. Their menacing energies have sapped the strength of The Gateway, rendering it too weak to handle these great ethereal gatherings of the Ascended Warriors. Faster than you can say Transmogrify, as if the Gateway were forced to keep the wise earthly beings from sharing their knowledge with the Ascended, Telara is banished into darkness (aka blue screen of deathness) and deafening silence echoes through the Ventrilo portal... ...until a Maelstrom of rebooting and spammed instant cast expletives finally "rez" the Gateway to quest for more Telara Saga victories. Now, it is up to YOU Divine Warrior!!! Help the earthly battle priestess reach me (Ripley), here in Telara. Too many times I have faced the Healer when the earthly Gateway has vanished. There must be a way to strengthen the forces within. I beseech you noble Gaiscioch...we must fight together...our fates lie in the protection of Telara. Our survival depends upon the strength of The Gateway! Huzzah! Ni neart go cur le cheile. (There is no strength without unity)

I'd like to build a computer for my son as part of my plan to homeschool both of my children. Seeing he loves computers and wants to use mine all the time, this lovely video card would help a LOT in the construction of his own computer, seeing I have a few other parts to go along with it. ^_^

I am currently in the process of building a new PC with the help of my two boys and they have told me that this is the exact card that I require. As you can see below they really know their computers inside and out.

...and thus begins the epic battle of Kids, Kittens and Komputers!

My current 5450 would not just be inferior, but would have a daily reminder of it as well :) AND, I could pass on the 5450 to another! Mwuhaha! ;) In seriousness, I cannot say I deserve it, nor need it any more than other posters. Just throwing a hat in the ring :)

I have never had a Radeon card - always used G-force. I wouldn't mind seeing what all the fuss is about for the Radeon. Other than that, I am retired and gaming is my real only hobby - live alone and have no real friends - but then again I am old and some of the young ones might need it more. This wouldn't bother me too much as I can just sit in the dark ... and rock in my old wooden chair and think of the good old days playing Pong. /moans deeply and lets out a heavy sigh

In Vent a couple nights ago Ryndro saw I was on and informed me that I was the lucky winner much to my surprise! Next time I see he is on I'll ask that he update this thread.
