The Gaiscioch Batman/Batwoman Cosplay Race from Gloamwood to Sanctum 5/01/11

Just kidding, we're not dressing up as bats. Instead, we are becoming bats! That's right boy and girls, it's time to get your flap on! This is a continuation of our squirrel race in Silverwood last month. This time around, we'll be starting Gloamwood and flapping our wings all the way to Sanctum.

In order to truly be one with your inner batness, you will need a Chalice of the Bat consumable item. It drops off of Death Rifts and has a 30 minute timer. If you use any skill or spell, it will revert you back to your normal form. I do have quite a few extras, so if you don't have one but want to participate, then just let me know. Also they are sometimes available on the AH for sale.

The rules that applied for the squirrel race once again apply for the bat race.

1> We will have pre-determined checkpoints that must be crossed in the correct order. Failure to comply results in alot of people in vent laughing at you mercilessly. ;0

2> There will be no buffs allowed on your person. That includes any buffs on the feet. If you have said buff then you must unequip the item before starting the race. Once again, failure to comply will result in dire consequences. I'm not sure what they are, but it sounds really threatening to say so.

3> There will be no outside interference allowed. Things such as pre-clearing of mobs or pulling mobs off the participants will be frowned upon. We are trying to create an atmosphere of heart pounding suspense here folks!

4> The winner of the race will once again be the first person to locate Blocked/Gypse in Sanctum and perform a successful /trade action with him/her. Being who he is, it would be wise to expect some trickery.

We had a great time with the previous squirrel race and hope to have just as much fun this time. This will be naturally a longer race so make sure to properly hydrate yourself and stretch your uhh finger muscles.

Excellent, bat tears are missing from my collection. ;) (I shuould add something like "because you all will cry when I win!", but that's not my style, I prefer you to assume i'll kill you to get your tears.) :D

You should get an extra run speed increase when you're being chased by a bloodthirsty German woman on a two headed albino turtle. I'm putting in a suggestion to Trion today. ;0

I forsee plenty of check points in the silkweb area and all that bloody spider aggro.

We may have a warped sense of humor but we are not cruel. So no runs through spider country or anything like that. ;0

Due to the fact that 4/24 is Easter Sunday, we are moving the bat race to the following Sunday.

Heh, I'll be moving house a few days beforehand, so the race for me might be whether I can get my internet up and connected in time for this one. I have a number of the "Chalice of the Bat" items saved up for myself and others to use, and might mail them to you Bentmer ingame ahead of time for safe keeping in case I don't make the event.

Rebumping to the top lol.

So...being an open Riftaholic, I have to say this whole final exams week stinks! Although, not quite like the stench of bat guano...(that I sadly will be missing tomorrow). I will be preparing for a cumulative biochemistry final instead. In honor of all things foul/fowl, I must say...flap on my friends, may the best little stinker win!

Finals...boo...boo I say. Oh well, at least that means it's close to summer break I guess. Hopefully that will give you more time to play Rift lol ;0 Good luck on your finals!

I know I signed up for this event but I have had to withdraw due to fighting a migraine (which means no videogames). Sorry to miss this - have fun!

That was fun - thanks for the "bat potion" I'm not sure why I took off up that side hill at the beginning of the race. For some reason I thought there were fewer turns, and instead I had to go up the switchback... heh heh...
