Raiders Unite! (Update) - Expert/Raid Rift Event Sun Apr 17

Hey guys and gals,

I'm just writing a new post on the progress of our push towards Greenscale's Blight and beyond. We're making good progress it seems with the running of Tier 1 and Tier 2 dungeons, with alot of us being on the brink of Tier 2 now. I want to thank everybody who has helped those lesser geared and lesser experienced guildies work through the transition from normal to expert dungeons. It is a bumpy road but when you have a little bit of help, the road is a lot less bumpy. :) I want to give a big shout out to Cordite for always taking time out especially.

Our next stage of preparation will ensue this Sunday April 17th at 3:00 PM PST. I made an event and you can sign up on the event or post under this post. We will be opening at least 1 Raid Rift and several Expert Rifts. The plan also includes killing Baron Krevic in Stillmoor for the epic raid quest. If there are any Alsbeth invasion events that get our attention, we'll do those too!

Because we are restricted to 20 people in a raid group, the first 20 who sign up with me will be given priority over others that join at the time of the event. So please sign up beforehand to guarantee your spot. The level restriction is level 50 but there will be no other restrictions otherwise.

Further down the road, we are still aiming to make our first Greenscale's Blight foray at the beginning of May. Hopefully we will be geared enough and prepared enough by then. If we are not ready, then we can always postpone but that is still the target date at this point.

Signed up on Zavrin, my healy Cleric! He can also DPS. I think I'll be able to go, but will have to see on Sunday. Also, I let DoE know so you may get more from there :)

A raid can never have too many healers. :) And we're now a little over half full so if you want a spot for certain, then please sign up because I cannot guarantee you one otherwise. Also, if your character name is different from the user name that you've signed up with, then please whisper me on Sunday who you are. Otherwise, I might not actualy see you there. :)

Unfortunately, RL crept up and will most likely not be able to make it for tonight's event. Removed myself so someone else can have my guaranteed spot.

Thank you to everybody that participated in the fun on Sunday. It gave us a good preview, I believe, of the challenges ahead of us when we move on to Greenscale's Blight. I apologize for those who asked for an invite but could not join, we had filled up prior to the start time already. We will be doing more in the future and I will post sign ups again as usual. The plan is still to make our first foray into Greenscale's Blight on the May 1. (Our death run into the hedges doesn't count lol) Most likely we will not be ready to do anything substantial. But I would like for us to get acquainted with the place and pull a few mobs. As a reminder, the recommended stats for Greenscale are (in addition to being in T2 equivalent gear) Toughness - 150 (Tanks) Focus - 200 (Magic DPS) Hit - 200 (Physical DPS) Spell Power - 900-1000 (Healers) I know for the majority of us, that we are still a bit away from those marks but that's alright. We'll get there eventually. :)

Thank you for leading it, Bentmer. I had a blast! It's a bit hard for me to try to judge whether I was "pulling my weight" or not, but , if nothing else, I managed to get off a few in-combat rezzes that were hopefully beneficial to the raid as a whole. ;-) It seemed to me, at least, that the vast majority of the deaths were not due to (me) being unskilled (as I'd figure I was by far the least experienced healer there); they seemed to happen too quickly (as in, most were one-shots). Which at least offers me the hope that as we gear up we'll eliminate them. :-)

No you did great, there was no lack of skill on your part or on anyone elses' for that matter. Indeed, the problems arose mostly from lack of proper gear. We either couldn't kill things fast enough (gear on DPS), couldn't heal fast enough (gear on healers), or our tanks couldn't keep themselves alive long enough (gear on tanks). However, we overcame all of that and did a great job. The two keys when you're involved in raids like that are that you have to have alot of patience (because things do go wrong and you die alot) and you have to be able to quickly understand instructions and translate them to action. Those are not easy things to do at all. And I think everyone in our raid Sunday did both things very well. I think the future is very bright for us. :)

Is there a chance that you might run raids either Saturday or Friday nights? Sunday is Monday for those of us from Downunder (and there aren't enough of us for even T1 at the moment). I'd love to see more of the game (and even with the limitation of only being able to get 1-2 dungeon runs a week in due to Oceanic time zone populations I think my gear will be close to good enough soon).

Right now, we're just getting our feet wet basically and that's why I've only planned them on Sunday. But we will eventually expand into Wed and Fri nights in the future. I realize that not everyone can make it to a certain night, so I'll try to spread it out a bit.

Thanks, it's good to know something is coming. I have days off my next two Mondays, so if you do need a Healer for your Sunday raids in the next two weeks let me know :-)

I will be posting a signup for the Greenscale raid two Sundays from now. If you're interested then make sure to sign up. There are a very limited number of open spots left right now. As time goes on, hopefully we can have several raids going at the same time and that will give more opportunities for everyone. A word of warning though, it won't be pretty in our first forays into Greenscale lol. We will most likely be dieing alot and with not alot to show for it. :)

The DoE people who attended have been busily readying more Corrupted Souls for use in raid rift summoning... We are also doing one expert rift a day. If you are interested in tagging along to them, friend Zavrin and whisper me about your interest, we do one after our daily expert dungeon :) As a note, though, we are collecting any Souls that drop from these for use in Tuatha summonings so I will be claiming any that drop :) ps if you're a rogue please come along, we've sharded too much leather already!
