For People Requesting Mats for Crafting...

I am a crafter, but lately I have been mostly gathering for other people, and thus comes my viewpoint...

For me, or anyone else to actually play and gather simultaneously, and subsequently supply others with what we gather in response to your requests, it would help if you asked for less total items at one time.

What I'm saying is, that if you want 100 silk cloth, rather than ask for 100 silk cloth, ask for 5 different stacks of 20 silk cloth.

Then, one person isn't out grinding to get 100 silk to fill your order. Five people who are questing in the areas that drop silk, and who happen to have 20 in their bags to spare, can easily fill your order.

You spend the same resources to request... Nobody else is grinding... You probably actually get your order filled faster... There are a lot of pros to this equation rather than cons.

In the end, this is just my suggestion, since I'm actually 'trying' every morning to fill at least one, if not numerous orders for everyone, putting my own love of crafting aside to help out because I know people need it.

I hope this helps you get your orders filled faster. Thanks.

I agree. Ashlait (whom I've been playing almost exclusively, even though she wasn't "meant" to be my main) is only a gatherer. But unless one of her skills lags to the point that I can't find "stuff" to gather in the same area where she's questing, she never goes on a gathering run. She just grabs things as she goes. There's no way to predict what she's going to end up with... so I only claim material orders once she already has what she needs to fill the order. That said, what I normally do is dump whatever I gathered into my bank, and then when I have a full stack of something in the bank, I look to see if anyone is requesting it (since people don't seem to be requesting less than one full stack of anything, for the most part). However, if people were requesting smaller stacks, I'd be happy to "retrain" myself to check the marketplace after each run and see if there's any orders I can fill. The only drawback I can see, for the requester, is that if 20 won't do them any good (they have to have the full 100 before they can make what they want to), they'll have to store the partial stacks in their bank until all their orders are filled. But as of now, that same problem exists... it's just resting on the shoulders of the gatherers, instead. And as Nemon pointed out, it's more likely that 5 different people have 20 they want to donate than that Ashlait finally runs across those last 3 she needs to finish out the 2nd stack and send your way.

Good post. I was thinking the same thing. I am also behind on gathering because my main/gatherer is out of commision until they resolve his hacked status.

I am also strictly a gatherer on both of my mains (yeah, I know - how can I have two mains) but I am attempting to flesh them out so I haven't leveled very fast (one at 30 - one at 24) and therefore haven't gotten up to what most people want. I will get there though. But when you crafters ask for 300 of an item - that is near impossible and I really appreciate the peole that have been breaking them down into at least stacks of 50.
