Week 2: The Battle for Silverwood - March 15th 2011 @ 6PM PST - Read Before Attending

A courier hastefully bangs on your door and presents you with an urgent letter from Foghladha. You take the letter from him and as you begin to open the envelope sealed with wax, a roar in the distance pulls your attention. You glance at your weapon and your armor collecting dust and grin. Within the letter reads:

Hail and Well Met Guardians,
I am Foghladha, Ceannard na Griobhta of the Gaiscioch Treubh and I have been asked by Cyril Kalmar to secure us a new home for our soldiers. He has taken up residence in the great city of Sanctum and has requested that we secure Silverwood to begin settlement. We have many new troops among our ranks and need to fortify our territory to protect the newly revived souls while they learn their bearings.

Our first task is to cleanse the land of Rifts, Footholds, Invasions and most of all Defiants. I am giving a what's red is dead directive to all of my acting generals. If it breathes and does not wear the Guardian coat of arms kill it on sight. No questions asked. We will form at the Gate to Sanctum at 6PM PST (Server Time) this Tuesday and begin to solidify our territory of Silverwood. We will continue the establishing of our colonies the following week again at 6PM PST.

All soldiers, farmers, maidens, and curious individuals are welcome to join. We will have 14 Generals on the field with groups ready for you to join. They will be each in charge of a region of Silverwood. Feel free to hop from one to the other based on what you need to accomplish. We welcome everyone willing to lend a hand to our cause. While the remoteness of Silverwood offers us some protection we must be weary of invaders at all times. If you see any shady characters who might need a quick death let us know and they will be Vanquished. We thank you all for your assistance in this task. Lets make Cyril proud.

It is only in our Darkest Hour that we have the most potential to Shine. We may have been defeated in the past, but by the Gods we have been given second life! Do not let your second chance slip you by. Join your brethren in combat and enjoy the spoils of war! I look forward to seeing you on the Battlefield!

Tonight we mass for the first of a 2 part fortification of Silverwood. I have chosen 14 Warlords to lead tonights event. We will be taking our vent members and sticking 5 of you in each of 12 channels. Our Warlords will place a phantom in the Leaders Den and set a push to talk for the channel. We would like all those who do not join us on vent fill in the first 10 slots of each raid group. Each Warlord will have their own channel to instruct their members. We will divide the 12 of our Warlords up into 4 major control sectors (See Below).

Tonights Warlords are as Follows:

Sector 1 Defense:
Raid Group 1: Foghladha (High Level Patrol)
Raid Group 5: Cue
Raid Group 9: Cavalier

Sector 2 Defense:
Raid Group 2: Vengful (High Level Patrol)
Raid Group 6: Bentmer

I will move personnel around as needed and as things heat up. This is our first public event lets show the Guardians who their protectors are. Lets leave a positive impression. I want to make sure that everyone goes out of their way to help a person who looks in need, give an item to someone who is under geared. Go out of your way to make a positive impression of our family. This is our first shot at making a lasting good impression and we want to make sure this event is fun for all.

Pre-Raid Setup
Please meet inside the Guild Tavern at the East Side of Sanctum. We all want to be sure to buy at least 1 rally token so that if I summon you all come. I will be summoning to major Defiant Invasions and World Bosses if need be. We get 1 Summon per Hour so we have to fire it off at the right time.

Ventrilo
Please start gathering in "The Tavern" about 5:30pm so I can brief you all and introduce tonights Warlords. We want to make sure this is fun and enjoyable by all and I am quite certain both Trion, Massively.com, and some other gaming sites will be watching us (I may have tipped them off a bit ;) old contacts come in handy).

I want the white house raving about how cool this event is so please by all means Blogger Army Assemble! Lets get this event out in the open and get people talking about it. The more people that hear about it the more people will come to know us. If we want to become a legend in this game nows our chance. Lets write them history books and show what were all about! And is it correct grp 1 & 2 of ea raid would be ventless peeps?

Surli, If your not a warlord ya dont have to worry about the phantom nonesense. My guys who run these raidgroups know what to do. All of our leaders will be in a channel as Phantoms or Clones as well as our own local raid group channel. 5 to 7 players who are vented will be in each Raid Group. The non vented people will fill in the final seats to have 10 Gaiscioch / Tuatha in each Raid Group. The remaining 10 slots will be comprised of PuG's or the local wildlife. This allows them to get to know our leaders, learn about our family, and have a support structure to make sure their having a good time. Being broken out in vent to 5 to 7 people per channel will give us all some 1 on 1 time with your assigned leader and help introduce you all to the people who run our events. I will introduce them all before the event kicks off. This should be a lot more fun than our previous two events. We've had several recommend this style of breakout and while my concern is it will take away from the playful banter and chatter it will help keep channels clear for communication. Before and after the event we'll have everyone in the Tavern. Each event we will rotate warlords so that people get mixed up and make some new friends. We want to keep people intermingling as much as possible so that we can grow together as 1.

Ready do kick some Defiant butt, if they show themselves, and seal rifts if they don't. *Edit* My weapons and armor are never covered in or collecting dust!

Added updated maps. We can expect some defiant hostility. With Massively.com posting us a bunch of Defiant all of a sudden have ammased an army. We're going to put our highest level people in a patrol group in each Sector. In addition We ditched Sector 5 and made the roaming areas bigger and then moved 3 Raid Groups into each area. As with before we want to form up raid groups with 5 Vent folks in each of the 12 raid groups. Once we have 5 VENTED people in each we will start filling in everyone else. You vented folk are in charge of keeping the leader in the leader seat in case of LD. You are also his voice if they have to go AFK. I think this week it should be a bit more fun and we should finally see some invaders *crosses fingers*

I will do my best to make the event on Tuesday but I'll be at the mercy of either hospital or hotel wifi as I'll be out of town visiting my mom who is having major back surgery that day.

I am very excited! This kind of thing is just amazing and I love it!!

Noob recruit and noob Rift player. I plan to be there either on my lvl 18 Cleric or up and coming Warlock (currently lvl 10, but who knows what level he will be by tomorrow). Granted, either will probably be a bit low. But I will help where I can.

Looks neat. I will join you guys in the near(ish) future. Still working on getting that job and I need to wear out Shogun 2 Total War and let you folks deal with all the bugs first. I should be able to join you guys by like May/June, earlier if my job prospects work out.

Bugs? What are those? Nice hearing from you Vamp. Yeah, we need leaders in the game. So, good luck on the job hunt.
