I'd be more excited if this didn't mean yet another full download. On my slow (but fastest available in this rural community) DSL, that takes at least a full 24 hours... when I really can't do much else without slowing it down even more. May just have to continue to trust those of you who were in alpha and those who have fast 'net access, for now, to make sure things are good. At least until I move back to civilization (oh how I miss city, as opposed to town, living!).
Anyone know if the trick of copying the assets across will work for this, to reduce download time? I can't see why it wouldn't, unless Trion is just being "mean". ;-)
EDIT: To avoid double post.
It appears that copying assets into the alpha folder and then clicking "Recover" does indeed work. Cut the download size down to 957.3 MB.

Well, it doesn't require a full download IF you already have the old Alpha client installed. It was about 600 MBs for me. [NOTE] For first time Alpha downloaders be SURE to put the Alpha files in a different DIR from your Live game!
To be clear (since we both posted about the same time ;-) ): I never had Alpha installed. I made a new directory and put the Alpha patcher in it, copied the Assets directory from the live folder, then ran the patcher and clicked "Recover". So it appears 600 MB download if you had old alpha client, 957.3 if you "just" have live.
Maybe I was supposed to uninstall the Alpha client before installing the Live. I only uninstalled the Beta. When I tried launching Alpha, everything worked fine with a DL of about 147 mb.
