Puzzles and Cairns Guide

I found an interesting guide to ALL the puzzle and cairn locations in the game:

It also gives the maximum level of gear you can get from each (gear from them scales, but only to a certain point) so you can figure out the optimum time to get each (if you're a min-max type).

Spoiler Alert: Do NOT read this guide if you prefer to find these things and solve the puzzles on your own. I'm using it mostly to see what I "missed" in zones I think I've completely gone through. So far, I'm doing pretty well. :-)

This does not appear to include the cairn in Freemarch at (5900,5030)

Interesting... doesn't appear to have anything listed for Freemarch (as in not even the puzzle there). Do you know what level that cairn scales to, Elsimer? I would presume 30 (like the one in Silverwood), but that's just a guess. If so, I should go hunt it down soon, before I outgrow the reward.

I was 30 when I picked it up and I received a 30 reward so I'm relatively (about 99%) certain it caps at 30. A 35 would have to check it to be sure. Incidentally, Tintreach and I checked all 7 of the cairns in Lake of Solace. We received 4 capped items (level 30) and the other 3 were crap. I'm assuming at a certain point they figure you've had enough. It could have been rotten luck, but all 4 rewards were shields for me (2 copies of each other and 2 different) so if you hit the Lake of Solace pick at least one cairn, as many as 4 of them. Oh, and you should receive Amphibious Brews with the first four - you'll need them for a few unless you are right on the spot and speedy with your swimming/heals.

I did the Lake as well, with the same results: 4 decent (level 30) items and 3 trash. I got a couple of wands (a green and a blue), neither of which was good for me, then green shoulders and gloves that were both minor upgrades for me. In all, I was rather disappointed with the Lake of Solace, for all the swimming involved. You do get the "Explorer of the Depths" title for getting all seven cairns, though. :-)
