Found this out recently and think it's the best thing since instant grits:
In Black Garden PvP warfront, when a player has the Fang, a bar will appear below the blue/red score UI. This bar shows the name of the player with the Fang, their faction (Guardian or Defiant) and their health. You can click on the bar and it will automatically target the Fang carrier.
That is a great tip. Also, something I did not know the first few times I ran it that does help as well, apparently the number of points you get is related to how close you keep the fang to the center. So while running back near your teams spawn point may be a good defensive move it does not net you much in points it seems.

I think the last patch modified the 3 point area so that it no longer includes the small bit of ledge by your spawn at the end of the wall. You now need to be on the main level to get the 3 points. No more turtling down on the ledge. Or more correctly it is now a longer turtle-down up there.
