To be or not to be...

Oh ma, the indecision is killing me. To be a bard (love bards in all forms in all MMO games) or to be a healing cleric? I would think there would be less pressure playing as a bard as mostly when a party fails either the tank or the healer gets blamed. Which would be more useful in a guild of this size?

Brothers and sisters - help me out!!

Regards,
Ariadan

Anything really. The point is playing something you enjoy, before any considerations :) Besides, bards can handle healing rather well with the HoT and insta heal coda.

There will never ever be enough healers or tanks.... no matter which MMO or how large the family, tanks and healers are always in demand. (I, however, am going 44/51 bard depending on the situation.) And primary Archon for alt. Straight support make me happy.

Hehe..I still haven't figured out all the souls I like. The best part about Rift is I can pick an choose any day of the week what flavor I want to play with. (And I won't have to reroll!)

Try not to think in the limiting ways of past MMOs with Tank/DPS/Heal limitations. Like was already mentioned, play what gives you the most enjoyment and entertainment. That said, I'll be the chloromancer/warlock/necro, heavy on the chloro side cause it be what gave me the most fun.

The Rogues get all the cool souls. :( The teleporting tank. The combat engineer. The pig caller. The Altair wanna-be. The Robin Hood wanna-be. and of course... The Rock Star. After playing a Rogue and Cleric to 30+ during the Beta I can honestly tell you that both of those souls are awesome. The Rogue archtype just has alot of "neato" factor to it. I still decided that my main will be my Cleric, but eventually I'll make a Rogue alt...just to blow stuff up. :P

I'm definitely rolling a bard and naming him Vhalen, or Evhalen

Well I played more clerics than anything else during the beta sessions and found them to be very satisfying. I am an old tanker at heart and will probably have a tank alt or two standing by in the wings.

Definitely have to play what is most fun for you, and not let yourself be limited with old archetypes from other games. In beta I watched rogues and clerics effectively tank (some even have a taunt!!). Mages and bards heal... This game is just unlike any others that i've played. It's awesome. I played a Bard as a main and every warfront I was either top heals or 2nd, and usually the most killing blows to go with it! I absolutely LOVE that class! I will have a chloro alt and a cleric alt as well, the cleric having 2 roles - sent/puri/ward and sham/druid/just (might throw some cabal/inq in there too). In the end I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of these toons, and will continue with them. I am an alt person through and through, and will likely also have a warrior, but the first 3 will cinch up all the crafting classes for me. Just a few hours left...WOOT!

I'm a bard addict, and I already have the background and RP material ready for him, so I'll be sending soothing songs at the mobs for quite a while. That said, I'll be leveling up a Champion as my first alt, and already have plans for a Justicar cleric build in the wings. However, that said, there will be times the bard will snap his fingers and change roles...
