New Feature: The Gaiscioch Marketplace!

It's with great joy that I announce the launch of the Gaiscioch Marketplace, the one stop shop for ordering crafted items or finding materials to craft with.

1. Earn Artisan points to improve your Artisan rank and Contribution by crafting items for family members.

2. Earn Contribution for supplying crafters with the materials they need.

3. Request Items to be crafted using your Family Vault Tokens.

This system is currently in its Functional Beta phase and I will be making some improvements over the first few weeks. Once you have placed an Order your order will show up in the Open Work Orders section where a Crafter can claim the work order. Once claimed you will receive an email with the crafters name. The Crafter will then have 5 days to complete the work order or it will return to the Open Work Orders section.

Artisan's can only claim a certain number of open work orders based on their Artisan Level. A Rank 0 Artisan can only fill one order at a time. A Rank 10 Artisan can fill 25 at a time.

To place an order you will have to be sure your Rift Character is claimed on the site (Characters will be indexed once a week) This is how we populate the Send Item To field.

Wonderful! I hate to craft, but love to gather, forage, mine, skin, etc. So I'll be supplying materials. Another great idea Ben!

Any idea on when the Family Vault will be set up for Rift items? I found alot of blues that I couldn't use and would like to share them with those that need them. Just doesn't feel right npc'ing them. Or is there any plans for an in game guild vault? I figure that when game launches people will be looking to gear up as they lvl. Maybe start a thread for free lower lvl items. I was just going to Silverwood and giving stuff to random lowbies, I would rather keep it in the family if I can.

@Morigana... I love to hear you say that. I LOVE to craft, but find myself spending hours and hours just gathering mats. I like this system and look forward to making all that I can for people. I will have 3 toons at start, just so that I can do all of the crafts (is how I always do it in every game). The only catch will be that I have to play all 3 toons because the best craft recipies come from faction... Oh well. Can't wait.

Do you need to be an artisan to get the recipes? I only got to play a couple of days on the last beta and all I did was experiment with a few builds and although I did see some "nodes" for harvesting, I am totally lost as to the crafting system in Rift. But any recipes that "drop" or come as rewards I will be sure to put in the guild vault. In WOW I farmed Frostweave cloth for one of our crafters for about two weeks - I looked at it as my "job" with the guild to gather resources since I love to be "out in the world" exploring - gathering resources - by whatever means is actually rather fun for me.

Awesome, I always managed to rank up my crafting just to find nothing to do, this should change that for me :)

Did the resource request working? I just went to put in order for 50 burlap cloth and my character name does not show up but does on the other request pages?

Okay seems when i added character to list then went in to edit it for the 3 crafting professions it some how got removed or not available to re-add from guild list.

How are items added to the list? For example, I've taken up Artificing and would be happy to take orders, but I don't see any jewelry listed there.

So where would raw material requests be placed (if I'm looking to supply them to someone)? I'm assuming under materials needed? This looks really cool, can't wait to start using it.

Foghladha, I see how to request items, but don't see how to contribute resources. Is this a seperate function, like the vault that you were referring to? I have taken butchering, mining and armorsmithing and will be looking to contributing some resources but am not sure how to go about it. Thanks!

Under Request Materials you can request resources. Mouse over the type and the request what you need. You will need to convert at least 1 Family Vault Token into 100 resources to be able to request any. Once we get the leadership / fellowship console working again for rift Family Vault Tokens will be plentiful.

Looks great so far! Just one question, though - is the chain mail armour listed under the plate mail section? I couldn't find it! Cirig

Okay got my first stack of cloth from my request, but I did not have an option to confirm Bentmer Sent me the items so he gets the reward?

Heh, ok, but not really wanting to request, wanting to supply. Is it all done through the same process? Thanks!

It's all good Mikey. As soon as I mailed you the items, I can confirm here on the website that I sent it to you. The website credits me the contribution points and just as importantly, it allows me to accept another request. :) Velvet, you will have to keep checking the Materials Needed tab and see if anybody is asking for the resources you have. Otherwise, until there is a guild vault implemented, you will have to hold onto them.

Hmmmmmm, I just went to the marketplace and saw a request for materials, so I would respond to that request, got it!!! BUT what if I wanted to donate some material without a request, I suppose it doesn't work that way then does it, no credit gained for a random donation. Old and slow here but I eventually catch on.

You can request more than bags on this thing. Us weaponsmiths need some work too. Ok in my case only lowbie stuff..but still.

will there eventually be a way to review previous orders so we can provide feedback, tips, etc? It might be useful for materials to have levels associated with them then sort by the level - it looks like it's sorting alphabetically currently.

I would also like to see a way to request augments on an item. I don't think anyone just wants the basic stuff. Or maybe list the items by augment prefix, such as Nimble Copper Sword (for the Dex augment), though that might be too much.

EDIT: Whoops. I claimed Wool Cloth, thinking it was cotton cloth. Is there a way for me to cancel this? Or do I have to wait the 5 days for it to expire? In my eagerness I made a mistake. I'm so sorry for that, I'll definitely make sure it won't happen again -- posting and browsing when tired is not a good combination, for future reference!
