I plan on being a runecrafter with mining and foraging. My current plan is to donate half of what I mine and forage to the guild and use the other half as income while I level runecrafting. To the end of donating raw materials to the guild, does the guild start with a guild bank or is that something we earn as the guild levels? I'm sure it is mentioned somewhere, I just haven't found it yet.

*Edit: I spel gud I r a collage stoodent*

As a Cleric I plan on going Armorsmith, Butcher, Miner myself. Once everything is established I would also like throw my raw materials into the vault. Some just arent into crafting and some do not quest for gear, so at least they can have some sor tof midlevel gear to wear on those cold PvP warfronts. ;)

You just have to do all the Novice Work Orders quests, which can be acquired from Sanctum. I tried this Sunday with a new character. It was pretty easy. From Divine Landing, I just learned all the gathering skills. Then, gather raw materials. I don't know the numbers exactly (I'm at work so I don't have it right now) but 20 Yew Woods, 20 Tin Ores, 20 Burlap Cloths and 20 Soft Hides should be more than enough. After that, go to Sanctum, unlearn the skills that you don't need. But convert the woods into planks, ores into bars, cloths into bolts, and hides into leather before you unlearn. Then, learn new craft. Learn ones that you don't want to "major in" first and get the work order from that Abbot of Bahralt. Once the work order is ready to be turned in, unlearn the skill and learn another one until you're all done with all the crafts. Then, you can go back to Quicksilver College and turn in all the work order quests. That should give you 18 Artisan's Mark. Work Order Quests (each quests rewards you with 3 Artisan's Mark) Apothecary - 2 Lesser Healing Potions (you can just buy the potions) Runecrafter - 2 Dim Resolute Runes Weaponsmith - 2 Tin Longswords Armorsmith - 2 Tin Sabatons Outfitter - 2 Burlap Shoes Artificer - 2 Yew Wands

Since I haven't played Rift yet, I,m just not sure what to do yet - but the above guide should get me started. I generally hate crafting - but love gathering. So, regardless of how it goes, I'll be gathering materials until my little fingers become stiff and blistered. :)

Every character can have three crafting skills. I'm considering loading my main character up with gathering skills. Mining, butchering, and foraging most likely. That way I can gather a lot of materials while we're out in the world doing quests, etc... I'll then load an alt up with armorsmith, weaponsmith, and outfitter.

The only problem with having all 3 gathering skills is the amount of space it takes up in your inventory lol. Especially if you are doing multiple quests that also require you to gather items. I wish they'd have a separate backpack for quest items to lessen the inventory issues, especially at lower levels. I personally love skinning the corpses of mobs killed by other people. It makes me feel like I'm getting away with something teehee. ;0

True. I sent in feedback on having a seperate bag for quest items. Similar to the way WAR handles them.

Well on my main, which i plan on pairing with keggan (aka Ladyblue now in rift), I am going Armor/miner/butcher. Then on my solo/PvP Rune/outfitter/butchering. The plan for the R/O/B is the stuff i make with the outfitter i can runebreak. It has worked well with i have done. Keggan plans on doing apoth/arti/forger, my main will supply any gear we need, her with any metal she needs. With Ben's system we(family) help everyone that dont like the crafting.

So far not seeing Weaponsmiths. I may switch my main to that if we have need. I like the out/run/butcher because of the runebreaking everything the outfitter makes.

Bashir, my main crafting character will be doing weaponsmith, armorsmith, and outfitter. Since it seems we will have plenty of the latter, I'll probably focus more on the weaponsmithing. That said, I'll say again that I'm not an uber fast leveler. I'm a casual player so if the guild is looking to have a high level weaponsmith rather quickly, someone else may also wish to take up the task.

My main (rogue) will likely be an Outfitter/Butcherer/Runecrafter. Still haven't decided on my alt (mage) yet... but I'm leaning towards Forager/Apothecary/Artificer.

Mmmmm... gathering. An odd, guilty pleasure for me. I have no idea why as I really believe it SHOULD be considered boring. But, I can lose myself in it for hours.

I'll probably do mining/armorsmith/foraging. Depends on what skills are needed by the guild. Also, are crafting skills level capped according to player level? Like can a level 10 player have a max level armorsmith skill?

Weaponsmith/miner/no idea what else here on one char outfitter/as/forager on another And, if you don't mind brain dead grinding, and lots of running around to gather resources, you can make it to 75 in one day. At least on outfitter, AS and WS. I've done that on alpha lol. Runesmithing is quite slower, as you can only craft with components gathered from runebroken stuff, and the level of stuff you can rune break is tied to your skill level, so...

I might have missed it in another post, but is there a guide of some sort on crafting? I'm not exactly sure what the different categories are and what gathering skills contribute to each. Will we have some sort of listing of guild crafters? I plan on trying it all eventually (LOVE crafting) so would like to be able to see if we have a shortage in one category or another that I can bolster. eta: after some digging I found my link for the Wiki again. The rundown of the crafting seems to be more up to date than the forum posts I've found so far on crafting. http://telarapedia.com/wiki/Profession

I guess I'll go with butchering/outfitting/runecrafting for my rouge, I found it very useful. Didn't like mining/foraging/artificing on my cleric. Still have to try apothecary, have to find out what kind of potions you can make.

I quit Rift three days before Gaiscioch returned there. Must have fumbled my luck roll.
