The Return of Renny Conchobair aka Fugmug DeFailte

Greetings Everyone,
I have decided with the launch of Rift I will give Renny Conchobair of the Children of Failte a rebirth in RIFT. For those of you that know of the legend in Dark Age of Camelot, Renny was a survivor of a Norse invasion which killed off the last remaining tribes of Leprechauns. Renny along with 15 of his tribes children escaped imprisonment and fled to the Hibernian fortifications in Emain Macha.

As Renny grew older he began a quest to seek vengeance. Killing only those of norse decent all the while never harming a single innocent. In the ancient Leprechaun tradition it was against their beliefs of the tribe to harm anything that you would not use for food or shelter. However Renny felt that only through vengeance would his tribe be able to rest peacefully.

Over the durations of my adventures in Midgard I logged his journey in The Memoirs of Renny Conchobair, a blog before blogs which document each day's hunt as well as the kills which were made. Each day he adventured we would post of his adventure and post pictures of his handywork. I plan on launching this again for all to see. Except this time I plan on making it a social engagement. You'll be able to comment on the pages and help shape the story.

WHAT! you might ask. Yes once upon a time Foghladha was a roleplayer and quite good at it. The fact that the entire time I played Renny Conchobair (Fugmug) nobody except a select few knew I was also Foghladha the leader of battlegroups and zergs. While one side of me was outcast from the roleplay community for leading battlegroups, the other half of me was a active participant in the roleplay community and was actually one of the key players in it.

I'm hoping that this will become a fun little journey back to where I came from. Renny became a big part of me and gave me the ability to paint the blackness in my heart in a constructive place. He is one of the reasons why I am as patient as I am. There were days I would spend 5 hours stalking 1 player waiting for the opportunity to strike. Those that wish to join me on my hunts are welcome but I must warn you I am a different individual when I play Conchobair. You might just see a dark side of me. I look forward to making this journey.

\o/ Since UO days, I have always been of the firm belief that RP and PvP are not mutually exclusive. :)

AH the joys of being a rogue. I love the rogue in Rift which is why I'm more than likely going to play a rogue. =o) Where you like to play the dark rogue. My vision for my rogue in RP is more a a swashbuckler, which is why I like the bladedancer so much. Out for adventure doing my own thing but woe unto ye if you get in the way of my free weilding lifestyle. For my blades will find you no matter how long it takes. hehe.

Does this blog of yours still exist, Fog? One of the things that got me into blogging and MMO was actually a WoW blog called the WoW Pacifist. The blog basically chronicles a Gnome Thief's adventures of leveling up without killing anything (NPC or player). I thought that was pretty cool. So, I started my own weaponless Paladin (just shield attacks) and tried to blog about his adventures too. I only played two weeks (it was only trial) and then the blog fell apart. I was actually thinking of RP'ing a "Kelari-Hating, but Bahmi-Friendly" character. But I don't have a clue of how to RP in MMOs.

As someone who witnessed this first hand, Fog was absolutely perfect in his execution of his storyline... I remember playing with Fugmug, and fog would literally run away from battles involving anyone other than norse players... it was awesome... Proud to have seen and been there during many of the battles! Yes the blog still exists! I actually found it on accident when I was looking for my character's name listed anywhere on the website. http://www.gaisciochnaanu.com/tavern/10730/ I do have to say, Fugmug was one of the BEST role player characters I've seen! I remember grouping up with him in thidranki and taking on groups only to have Fugmug apologize mid combat for leaving because there were no more Norse and see him run off into the tree line... Fun times! I really will enjoy seeing what you do with this character Foghladha! =)

@Aethenbrior - Keep in mind I started this blog in 2003. Blog's didn't go mainsteam until 2004 and when I built this site, I had never even heard of a blog :D.

Thanks for sharing, Fog. I could really see you were quite into it, immersed deeply into the game, with that journal. Although I'm seeing green right now because of the red background. I've been reading blogs since 2000. Although they were called web logs or live journals back in the day. I don't know how it evolved into a blog, really. But I've been following a few blogs back then. Especially music blogs, which were my only source of indie and metal.

I only played on Nimue for a few months, but I think I remember reading these. You posted them on the Vault?
