Got the preorder from amazon up for any that want to order the amazon edition to help fund our ventrilo. Enjoy!
Apologies but I can't seem to see or find the link, either via the Amazon store or just on the base RIFT.Gaiscioch.com page. Did I miss something?
Right navigation on rift.gaiscioch.com
Maybe I'm blind, but I'm only seeing the regular edition, not the collector's edition.
They dont have a picture yet. There should be 2 boxes. Top one has collectors edition. They havent put the box art in yet.
it is on the sidebar, but if you go to the Amazon store page(http://astore.amazon.com/ofoglada-20) it isn't in the list.
I figured out why I couldn't see it.
So, I checked the site on my phone and saw the sale on the sidebar--the difference between my phone browser and my normal browser is that my phone doesn't have AdBlock. Users who are using Firefox or Chrome with some sort of AdBlock utility aren't seeing anything for sale at all, since those tools seem to treat them like advertisements. (My friends who also have AdBlock couldn't see either the normal ed or collector's for purchase on the sidebar, so I know it's not just me)
I'll disable the AdBlock temporarily to purchase it through the sidebar, but a link through http://astore.amazon.com/ofoglada-20 would be pretty nice if it isn't too inconvenient to do.
I just went ahead and used the ol' IE to purchase through the sidebar for now. :)

Added to the store and also added links to both the collectors and standard edition on the top navigation.
what do you get with the collector's edition that you don't with the regular edition?

based on last weekends Beta event, I decided to Preorder the CE. The Rift Invasions (and the server wide event) along with the limited pvp I got to participate in, have convinced me this game is worth a good look.
I'll probably preorder, don't know about the CE or not yet.
Ya'll might want to do a little thinking before you decide where to preorder your CE though. The different retailers offer a special ingame resist item...
The Official Rift Forum Post
Short Version
I'm having a hard time deciding which resist I want hehehe

Folks thinking about ordering the CE edition wait a couple of weeks. IF you are an Alpha/Omega tester... I'm trying to work a deal with Trion for ALL the Alpha/Omega testers so that we would automaticly get the CE in-game goodies when we place a STANDARD edition pre-order. The Holidays slow things down a bit and I won't know right away. I'll let ya'll know as soon as I know. Should I hold out for free t-shirts too? :)

Different Resist from different retailers? Sounds tough. But I'm still going for an Amazon pre-order just because I asked Ben before to help with the vent cost. Now's the chance to help out. I'm only going for the vanilla RIFT though. The Unique Mount and Pet, and extra 4 slots on the back pack sounds good. But I don't want to pay for other stuff that I don't need.
Probably newb questions. I have never purchased a game from Amazon. I always went to gamestop to get the game so I can play on the day it was released. If I pre-order and the game releases on say 3-1-2011 would I have to wait till 3-5-2011 to get the game to play. Or do they send you the key ahead of time so you can download the client/ apply / play while the CE box is being shipped to you.
When I got aion preorder the game arrived opening day. But aion left the betas active for the first 2 weeks so there was no delay of getting in
Well I bought my CE today, just hoping the release date isnt to far down the road.
@Terow: I ordered a couple of games from amazon last year. I got most of them during release dates. Although there was one that I didn't get on time. But only because the courier, Ensenda, couldn't find my house. They said my address didn't appear on their GPS.
I hope that, like in Aion, Trion will give us --those who pre-ordered and those who got into beta-- a grace period. So we can continue playing the game while waiting for our physical copies to arrive. I definitely think they'll give us that if we ask.

Yeah, I've preordered games from Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop online. I live in the wilds of South Georgia, and I have always gotten them either on release day or the day before.
I jumped at the chance to order from Amazon, and I am pleased with the Earth resist thingy because of Ariel's backstory. :)
But I also hate having boxes lying around the house and now I see D2D is offering it. But I won't get the nifty little flash drive if I order from D2D and it's the same price? :(
EDIT: Doh, D2D only has the standard edition. I guess my choice is made for me.

We pre-ordered three copies (one for myself, my wife, and my father in law) via Amazon.
If I have to, I'll buy an extra hard copy to ensure I can log in as soon as the live servers open up -- couple of names we'd like to grab are names that won't last long. ;)
So, hopefully they'll grace the VIP beta testers in as other games have done.

Something new on the new account management page: "You need to be invited to play in the RIFTâ„¢ beta events. If you have applied a VIP beta code, or pre-ordered the game and applied your pre-order code, you will receive invitations to all RIFT beta events." So for those that pre-ordered be sure to but that key on your account.
I preordered the Amazon CE, I like Amazon's preorders because next day shipping is super cheap.
